“FAVOURITE STAY IN TEWKESBURY”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

I Stay here every spring, its an annual reunion thing with my ex Forces colleagues, we served in this area for many years at various intervals and always on return we stay here at Barton House.
Mike and his good lady always look after us, the home comforts are all here, excellent breakfast, comfortable bed, spotlessly clean rooms, lovely views over Tewkesbury an ideal old fashioned town with plenty to interest the tourists, what more could anyone possibly want. Its convenient for stopping off before charging off to the M5 and its ideally placed for a good rest in comfortable surroundings.

Room Tip: You have peace and quiet in all the rooms just ask and Mike will provide.

We stayed here as a family over the August bank holiday weekend. Mike made us welcome from arrival and nothing was too much trouble. The house is eclectic and cosy with many period features. It has a relaxed atmosphere, secluded garden, parking and a great breakfast. It is also 5 minutes away from the river and the centre of Tewkesbury. We would definitely recommend it and would stay again if visiting the area.

From my first contact by phone I felt that Mike Green was friendly and helpful. When we got off the bus at the stop across the road from Barton House, he was standing on the balcony looking out for us & waving. It was a lovely welcome. The house is about 10 minutes walk from the centre of this lovely, historic town, 15 minutes from the beautiful Abbey. The room and facilities were clean, the breakfast was very generous (more was on offer than we could eat) and we had some very interesting conversations with Mike. On top of all that, the artwork and artefacts throughout the house were fascinating, especially the display of historical swords over the fireplace in the dining room! I plan to go back and stay again.

Room Tip: Barton House is on a busy road, so the rooms at the back are quieter.

Situated in the centre of Tewkesbury, this is the place to stay to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of a typical English market town. The locatioin is steeped in tradition and history - Barton house compliments this with a warm welcome and a cosy atmosphere.

Step out of the front door and there you are - the town is there, waiting to be explored.

Cosy and comfortable at an affordable price - highly recommended.
