Lovely barn. Cosy and furnished beautifully. A great getaway if u Looking to escape the hustle and bustle. Lovely surroundings. Quiet and peaceful. Great for dogs
Very nice and quiet location. Mark is very helpful with any queries or questions we had. The barn is quite spacious and has heating in all rooms. If it's cold then you'll need them!
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Foxes barn was the perfect place in which to spend our anniversary. The pictures on the website do not do it justice and we all (2 adults and 2 dogs) thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The sofas and bed were incredibly comfortable and the kitchen was amply stocked for us to prepare an elaborate Sunday lunch. If one doesnt feel like cooking, there are numerous eating establishments within walking distance. Loved that the tv was connected to Netflix as watching movies was the perfect way to unwind after a long and wet walk. We can't wait to return.
The moment we walked through the door we knew we had hit on a gem. A tastefully converted barn with plenty of space and the all important log burner.
Having stayed in many holiday cottages over the last few years this certainly tops the list and I would recommend it without doubt.
Neat, attractive and (for the two of us) very spacious accommodation, with the added bonus of a log burner. The location manages to combine seclusion and tranquility with ease of access to major routes, so as well as countryside views from the window you have the M5 not far away in one direction and Tewkesbury town centre in the other. A ten-minute walk down a quiet country lane brings you to shops including a Morrisons supermarket. Even with a short stay of a couple of nights we felt like we'd had a thoroughly relaxing holiday.
Spent a lovely week in Foxes Barn with my family and our dog, even though the weather wasn't marvellous! It is in a good, quiet position within walking distance of Tewksbury and because it is so close to the motorway, driving distance of many other pretty Cotswolds villages. There is a Morrisons a short walk away which also has a cheap petrol station.
The facilities in the barn were very good. Everything you could think of was provided. The only thing I missed was a dishwasher! I only met the owner, Mark, on arrival, but he let me know that I could contact him if ever I needed any help. However, there is a folder full of information and places to go in the accommodation so didn't need to call on his assistance. We would definitely consider this accommodation again if ever we came back to the area.
Foxes Barn is a lovely place to stay with kids and we really felt it was a home from home. Great base for exploring the area and in a lovely quiet setting in a tiny village just along the road from Tewkesbury. Easy check in and out using a key box, which meant we didn't need to worry about arriving quite late, and I liked that we didn't have to leave til midday on the last day, as it made for a nice relaxing pack up. The cottage itself was well equipped with everything you might need, and I liked that things like washing up liquid, kitchen roll and even cling film were all there in the kitchen, along with a particularly nice bottle of red wine! The set up worked perfectly for us, with the 'adult' bedroom downstairs, and the 'kids' bedroom upstairs, off the kitchen, with three single beds and an ensuite toilet for them. The beds were all very comfortable and everyone slept well. I would say it might not be the best set up for very small children (our youngest is 5, which was absolutely fine) because of the stairs up to the bedroom, which are slightly open and might be tricky for a very young child to negotiate independently. I liked that the upstairs bedroom was off the kitchen rather than the sitting room, as the youngest could sleep undisturbed while the rest of us were in the sitting room in the evening. The sitting room had lovely big comfy sofas and a large Smart TV with integrated Netflix. There was a selection of DVDs, books and games too (though some of the pieces were missing). There isn't any central heating as such, but there are big electric radiators in the bedroom and kitchen which warm up quickly. There is a log burner in the sitting room, which I'm sure would be lovely and cosy in colder weather. The floors are all tiled so you might want to bring slippers - though there are some provided if you forget your own! There were a couple of minor imperfections - a dodgy blind, a wonky toilet seat, not brilliant sound quality on the TV - but certainly nothing to spoil the experience. And there is wi-fi - a must for us with teens in tow! The cottage felt very private and cosy and suited us perfectly.
