“Terrible service, not worth the 79.00 stay”
Reviewed 23 November 2013

Stayed overnight as we went to the tribute night for a works do. Lead singer should know that some people can lip read!! He was very unkind about people dancing, plus they were not singing live. The food was cold and mass produce frozen roast, tastless rubbish!!we asked for a wake up call early enough to get up, shower have breakfast which is included in the price of the stay. Did not get one so over slept had to dash around to be able to get into work on time minus the breakfast!! I was offered one to go, however UK laws state you cannot eat and drive!!!plus did not have the time to wait for it. The free wi fi is useless I gave up trying!! The room had a view on to a flat roof littered with fag ends great! Would I recommend the village for a event or stay NO certainly not. So a very expensive night was so dissapointing.

We stayed one night at the Village Hotel Solihull. We were pleasantly surprised by the level of service and friendliness of all the staff we met. The swimming pool was lovely and there was also a very big Jacuzzi and a steam room/sauna. The Gym is very big with lots of equipment.
We had a nice dinner in the pub, and also enjoyed breakfast.
The only slight downside is that the rooms are a little small, and are very dark. This is down to the dark grey colour scheme with inadequate lighting provided. Having said that we both slept well, and found the bed to be comfy.
I would definately stay at a Village hotel again as it was a good price.

Thought we would try here rather than a budget hotel we usually use in the area.

Check in was fast, also did reservations for dinner , told us about book of vouchers and spa

Rooms look as they do on the website, good size but quiet dark in colour. Bathroom bright with a huge overhead shower head, also small hand held shower, loads of towels.

Bed and pillows were comfy . Shame about the noisy guests that came in at 4.00am , banging doors and being a pain.

Spa was busy, this was Saturday afternoon though. Pool was warm and good for a quick dip.

Breakfast was good, as was dinner. Good menu , my burger came on a wood board. The staff were friendly, polite and knew what they were doing.

Would use this hotel again as pool was a bonus.

Room Tip: Maybe you need to upgrade, it did seem noisy.

This was my 3rd stay here. Nice, comfortable hotel. Room was a bit hot but we forgot to turn thermostat down before retiring! No toiletries in bathroom unless you upgrade but there is a soap dispenser for handwashing and showering. Nice big towel (as they sometimes don't wrap all the way around me). Best of all the bed is comfortable. A Sealy bed with pillow top. Restaurant ok but not great. We ordered a prawn and avocado starter. Couldn't spot the avocado, the prawns were cut in half so it looked like you had plenty but didn't and it tasted as if there was crab at the bottom. I like crab but if you don't.....Wasn't worth £7.95. Breakfast was fine but I have had better. Would still recommend staying there though! Pool is nice but didn't get to use this visit.

I stayed at this hotel because it was a competitive price with free parking, breakfast and wifi. I found it was good value for money.

The location is a bit weird as it's in the middle of a business park. However, there is a Starbucks, bar and pub/restaurant on site so it was fine. There is also a gym/pool. So, you could easily spend the entire weekend here.

The room itself was clean, well proportioned and well appointed. There is a bit of a push to pay extra to stay in their upgraded room, but to be honest, their standard room is fine. The bed was comfortable and I found the climate control worked well. The linens were also nice.

The staff were friendly and efficient. The breakfast was mediocre, but edible.

All-in-all, I'd definitely stay here again, and I found it to be good value for money.

Booked to stay for two nights as the rooms looked good on the web. And I'm sick of staying in the budget chain hotels. ( won't mention). The hotel is like the other de vere hotels and check in was a little slow. I was upgraded to an pure deck room and I have to say it's very comfortable with everything I need. Great night sleep, nice toiletries, sky tv and a work station. I'm coming every week now.

Room Tip: Ask for upper deck

Stayed here when attending NEC exhibition. Upgraded to upper deck double and found room was compact but spotless, moden and had great freebies including full sky HD package, Bose docking system and tray of Starbucks goodies.

Staff in restaurant were extremely friendly and efficient and £29 for two dinner menu great value.

Room Tip: upgrade to 4th floor upper deck rooms
