“Hall Green Gardening Society Dinner at the George”
Reviewed 20 November 2013

The Gardening Society held its annual dinner this year at the George. The restaurant catered for 46 happy gardeners. The food, service, setting and friendliness of staff exceeded all expectations. The Lady in charge of proceedings - Liz, was a credit to the hotel in every way. From the initial greeting of our group , her constant attention to detail and to the friendly interaction with members of the group. On behalf of the Hall Green Gardening Society may I pass on a big thank you to MANAGEMENT AND STAFF OF THE HOTEL from all 46 grateful gardeners. I also pass on a special thank you because as organizer of the event I have never received as many compliments on my choice of venue.

After travelling two thirds of the globe, I cannot recommend this Hotel highly enough.
I had travelled from Luxembourg to visit a show for the weekend at the NEC. I was exhausted by the time I arrived at the hotel but was met with friendly and efficient staff who were classic ANTI-Jobsworths and di everythging to make my stay as comfortable as possible.
The room facilities were excellent, with one of the most comprehensive tea/coffee machines available in the room and the BEST shower that I have EVER had the pleasure to use.
The hotel is directly linked to The George bar/restaurant and when I wanted to book a table to eat I found that the restaurant was full. I was gutted ! However the friendly and helpful vlerk ensured that I received the same menu choice in the bar, which itself was very busy.
I enjoyed superb food in wonderfuily welcoming and calming surroundings.

If anyone is visiting the NEC they would be mad not to stay in this superb Inn.

Stayed here yesterday for a business meeting. The hotel was very busy but the staff smiled all through and they were all very helpful! There has been a programme of refurbishment over the last year and this has made the hotel much more comfortable- but I must mention the breakfasts! No tinned fruit or mushrooms here! Excellent quality and variety. Well done!

I have stayed at the Ramada Solihull on business about 6 times in the last year - twice in the last month.

The new owners have undertaken a program of renovation, which has made significant improvements to the rooms and public areas.

The bedrooms are clean and comfortable, and a good size. They have everything you'd expect - lovely comfortable beds, decent bathroom, LCD TV with freeview decoder, safe and free Wi-Fi access, all of which worked well.

The location is great - right next to Solihull town centre. There are lots of bars and restaurants, shops and a cinema within easy walking distance.

Breakfasts are really good, with a nice choice of hot and cold food all of good quality and well prepared.

Unlike some of the hotels at the NEC, this one is just a nice size, with friendly staff and cosy surroundings. It's always a pleasure to stay here.

A great venue for a wedding. We recently got married at the hotel and from the start of our enquiry until the end of the wedding nothing was too much trouble. From arrival on the day where Claudio was organising the wedding until the end of the evening when Natasha looked after us, any issues/concerns where quickly dealt with and resolved allowing us to totally enjoy the experience of the day. Liz ( a very helpful, enthusiastic and professional person) was also on hand helping out throughout the day and also at breakfast the following morning to make sure things ran smoothly. All the staff where pleasant, very friendly and professional. The room (a town house) was clean and well presented, again adding to the experience. The food was also well presented, served efficently by professional people. All the rooms that we used were very well presented. A great day totally enjoyed by everyone in our party.

This was a truly lovely hotel to stay in. My Dad had booked a family room for my children and I with my sister and the room was lovely! Mum and Dad had a double room that was small but very clean and tidy. The family room (room 230) was huge with an enormous super king bed plus a double sofa bed and single bed so everyone practically had a bed each! The staff were very friendly especially on reception and in particular a very nice young man on check out named Mr Cartwright! The breakfast was delicious with a huge variety of foods and drinks.

I would definitely visit this hotel again and would recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: The family room 230 if perfect for anyone who is staying with children it is huge and so so comforta...

Last year this Ramada looked a bit down at heel. In the last year the bedrooms have been redecorated, are clean and quiet. Bathroom retiled and the plumbing is good. Many of the public spaces have been refitted. The service is polite and efficient from staff who friendly. Good place to explore the area.

Room Tip: Ask for a rooms overlooking the bowling green
