My daughter had an early morning flight so we did not want to leave the same morning as you never know what the traffic is like! Booking was easy. Did not want a "bigger" name hotel as her and my husband wanted a more personal service.

They had an evening meal which was chicken & chips and steak & chips...they said it was lovely and reasonably priced.

The room was two twin beds and faced the runway. This wasn't a problem as there was triple glazing.

My husband left his glasses there by mistake and as it was so close to the airport it was no trouble to nip back and get them.

If she flies from Birmingham again they would definitely stay here.

Booked this hotel to go to a convention at the NEC. The staff were amazing! We were called while on our way on the train and asked if we would like a lift from the station to the hotel, which was really nice of them. Then we were checked in very efficiently, with everything being explained well. The following day breakfast was good, and we were then given a lift to the NEC for our convention.

The room was clean, modern and well appointed. Airport noise wasn't a problem. Breakfast was good.

All in all we simply can't fault this little, family-run hotel, will definitely book again next year and would recommend it to everyone!

We booked this hotel as it was close to the NEC and good value. The rooms were quite small and basic but it was very clean. The best thing about this hotel was the staff, as a family run hotel the staff were extremely welcoming and were on hand to answer any questions. Nigel in particular welcomed us, showed us to our rooms and recommended some lovely local places to eat, he was very friendly and chatted to us in the bar asking how our show at the NEC was going.

The hotel is small and friendly - staff are extremely helpful and welcoming. It is a little old fashioned but in a nice way! The rooms are clean and the food home cooked although the evening meal was very plain. My room directly overlooked the airport and as I like the window open was noisy. The bed was extremely comfortable and only other comment was about getting to the NEC which is expensive to park so the only other alternative is to get a taxi as you cant walk from the hotel due to the roads being dual carriageway and no paths.

Room Tip: Away from the runway!

I was at the NEC and the Tri-Star is so convenient. The staff couldn't do enough for me. I felt
so comfortable there on my own. The breakfast was lovely. As it is a family run hotel there is such pride in everything.
I would definitely come back too!

Booked this hotel as it was close to the NEC. Arrived early evening and still plenty of parking available. On arrival we were welcomed by Nigel the owner and given some info on the hotel, dinner, bar and breakfast times etc and he also offered to give advice on local eating places should we not want to eat there. We were shown to our room which was a good size, spotlessly clean, big bed (very comfy too!) and even had toiletries in the bathroom which I never expected from a small family run hotel. The dinner menu was basic but the food delicious and plentiful. There is a small bar which is quite well stocked and a sitting area with comfy seats where you can relax with your drink and watch the television. Breakfast choice was cereals, juice, full English and toast and all beautifully cooked and plentiful. Only down side for us was the location of our room meant we were woken early (6am) by the first planes of the day departing the airport but as we had to be up not long after it wasn't such an issue.
Nothing is too much trouble for the owners of this lovely little hotel and we will definately stay here again should we be back in Birmingham any time in the future.

I hardly need to add to the other positive reviews of the Tri-star. Everything worked, reception was efficient both in and out, that place was clean without being clinical (it even survived the finger-across-the-top-of-the-wardrobe test). The triple glazing kept out the noise of aircraft (not that there are many from BHX). The rear car park is ample, the room was comfortable and service excellent. This place is definitely run by people who recognise the connection between the guest and their pay packet.
