“Arts Complex with a Difference”
Reviewed 4 August 2013

Based in Touchwood in the centre of Solihull, the Arts Complex is in the same building as Solihull Library and comprises of a Theatre, Box Office,Cafe Bar, Gallery and Tourist Information Centre. The nearest car park is on Homer Road but it is only a short walk from the rail station and buses, which stop near the Touchwood Shopping Centre. There is always something of interest going on from art exhibitions in the library and a variety of live shows in the theatre. Presently showing is the musical 'There's no Business Like Show Business'.

There's an excellent programme of plays, musicals, ballet, bands, etc.over the next few months e.g. there is a Military Band Concert on 12 October and the annual pantomime 'Jack and The Beanstalk' will run from 13 December to 5 January 2014. Do look at the website. The café bar is very popular and has a good snack menu and delicious coffee is served. Altogether a very welcoming place to visit.

“Pantomime for everyone (including the tv ignorant)”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

As a family we have been to every panto here for many years. They are always great fun, very traditional and no constant references to television programmes that you may not have seen, (unlike bigger productions with "big names" in them. Long may they continue!

“And Finally.....Phil Collins”
Reviewed 16 July 2013

Went to see this 10 piece tribute act. Theatre was 70% full. This is a really good show, Pete Bultitude (as Phil Collins) is an excellent lead for 2 singers, keyboard, drums, 2 guitar and an excellent 3 piece brass section. Pete is an excellent drummer - close your eyes and it is almost the 'real' thing. Excellent rendition of a collection of Phil's greatest loosely centred on Phil's Live and Loose Tour of 1997. Most of the big upbeat songs are featured - special mention of 'Easy Lover', 'Both Sides of the Story', 'In the Air Tonight' and 'Susudio'. Played 2 one hour sets. The act has been going 5 years and will return to Solihull next year.
Staging was basic but sound quality was excellent. Drinks can be bought all night and taken into the auditorium.

We went to see Dick Whittingham Pantomime, written by Malcolm Stent at Solihull Library Theatre. It was a brilliant production. We love the size of the Theatre as it is very personal. the pantomime was so professional, we go most years.
