“Re-mortgage your house if you drink wine!”
Reviewed 12 February 2014

We stayed at this lovely hotel when some friends held their wedding here. The service was brilliant and the décor was superb. Room was nice and bed was comfy. I just draw the line at paying £22 for a bottle of wine. You can't justify that. No wonder people sneak their own in!

Stayed in the Preston Marriott along with 197 ladies for a "Spiritual Health Weekend" [which was super!] and how well looked after we were by the hotel staff!
Lovely bright spotlessly clean room, fab huge deliciously comfy bed with masses of pillows , great food at every meal [especially breakfast which was amazing ] and the delicious Afternoon Tea, but what really made the stay so special were the staff. ALL so helpful and cheery and that made a real difference to our stay. NOTHING was too much trouble. Certainly deserving of their 4 star status. Thank you to all.

Stayed as part of a fitness weekend, have been on many of these before but this was by far the best hotel. Staff could not do enough for us, food was lovely and our room was very large clean and comfortable would definitely recommend it, will be returning in the future.

Room Tip: Twin rooms are very spacious

Very friendly, excellent service, couldn't do enough to help

It was a very late booking - Reception (Lucy I think) was very helpful as I asked her questions on the phone whilst navigating marriott-online

The night staff were wonderful too (I arrived c.4am) and they had everything sorted out for me to speed up the check-in process

Checking out was good too! Thanks again to Lucy and Tarek for being so supportive (I am disabled, and needed quite a lot of help)

Room service breakfast was better than the Marriott average (I'm a Marriott Platinum/Gold member)

Minor downside:
The hot tap in the bath was not easy to operate, to get it past the 'tepid' position

Summary:
So much better in terms of competence of service compared to my previous multiple visits in 2005/2006 (they were always really friendly, but in those days the hotel staff did not have the competence that you expected from a Marriott).
Still just as friendly
They've definitely spruced up Reception and the front of the hotel

Room Tip: They still have a few smoking rooms - phone up reception when you are booking online and they will h...

Stayed here for 4 nights during Christmas 2013 with my family.
The Best hotel I've stayed at on the Fylde coast.
2 minutes from M55 and M6 motorways.
Excellent buffet breakfast.
Clean rooms.
Very polite and friendly staff.

From the time we arrived until we left we felt 'extremely valued guests', just passing staff in corridors etc you were always greeted with a smile.

Check-in was smooth and efficient, we were in our room in no time at all.

Rooms are comfortable, our bed was king sized. Our room wasn't tremendously spacious but it was fine, the bathroom was disproportionatly large but that was no bad thing. If I have a slight niggle about the bathroom it would surprisingly be about the shower. Marriott always (used to) made a feature of the importance of a good powerful shower, this one whilst a good temperature I felt lacked the power to deliver an excellent shower experience, the shower head size probably didn't help but I'd add i'm truly being picky in mentioning this for it was ok. The biggest let down in the room was the air con unit, a large suitcased sized unit that seemed effective but I'd defy anyone to sleep with one running for it was akin to being next to a jet engine on start up. Thankfully we just wanted to take the edge off the heat in the room and that was done by leaving the unit running whist we were out of the room.

We used the leisure facilities and these are of a very high standard. Poolside there is a pool, two hot tubs, a steam room and a sauna. My wife partook in a full body massage which she described as heavenly and she had her nails done which looked amazing on completion. There is also a Starbucks coffee lounge within the club.

We dined in the restaurant for Dinner & Breakfast, two totally different dining experiences but both excellent.
Breakfast is buffet style with an amazing selection all situated in an adjacent room with a chef in attendance. A great range of foods hot and cold.

Dinner, an amazing experience in a warm, wlecoming and comfortable environment.Staff are efficient, friendly, they anticipate your every need. We can recommend the Warm Duck Salad and for main courses my wife waxed lyrically about her haddock & Crayfish tail pie and my Calves Liver was 'to die for'. Presentation wise faultless. I chose a bottle of Domaine de la Baume Elisabeth, a gorgeous fruity white from the Languedoc region of France, more medium than dry it was a perfect match for our meals. We never got to desserts the portions were so generous and we took coffee in the lounge. Price wise top end of value for money at just over £30 per head

The staff here are a credit to the Marriott Brand.

Room Tip: In its own grounds it is tranquil experience whatever room you are in.

I visited the hotel for a spa day and had a great day! The beauty therapists were very professional and my friend and I had wonderful treatments. The gym was great and the pool was so relaxing. We enjoyed lunch in the Hotel bar and the food and service were excellent. A great day, i would recommend this hotel to everyone.
