“4 weeks of bliss March and April”
Reviewed 5 April 2014

If your thing is to feel like a member of Pam and Mick's family after day 1, to relax into the well-equipped cottage in fabulous garden and countryside surroundings, to wake up to spring flowers and lambs every day - then book yourself into Garden Cottage now!
Pam's hospitality is boundless and we were treated to unexpected goodies throughout our stay. Returning from a walk to be greeted by Sasha and Poppy was a delight, as were the antics of the ducks in the garden and the pheasant in the greenhouse.
Totally idyllic.
We are sad to leave but will be back.

Thank you Sue and Jack for those really kind words. What a pleasure it was to meet you both, we feel like one of the family has left. I hope Jacks T shirt has come clean after helping me with the lamb. I could do with some help with lines just now, the stage has gone up. We look forward to your return, teddy is on the chair upstairs, by the way his name is Toby because I love him!!!!! See you soon I hope.

We wish to thank Mick and Pam for their help, advice and concern whilst we stayed at their very comfortable cottage during November 2013 and January 2014. We needed accommodation near to Preston in order to help our daughter who had become hospitalized with a serious condition. Thankfully, she is now almost fully recovered!
Pam and Mick were complete "stars", were interested and helpful - Mick even went as far as lending me his trailor in order to do some furniture removing!!! As for our "night out" at the local village hall - well we didn't win Pam, but we gave the others a good run for their money at the Quizzing, didn't we??
The Cottage - well its very comfy, warm and cosy, has all that you need and is sitting in a beautiful and peaceful garden - just what you need to relax and feel "at home". Even Poppy and Sascha their dogs come out with a smile to welcome you back after a day out? Then there are the Ducks + Sheep and hens - a fabulous place to stay and fresh eggs for breakfast!!!
Nearby are two local pubs, the Green Man and the Ye Old Horn which serve real ales, the latter which actually brews its own?? The Thatched inn called Guys at Bilsborough, just down the road serve good hearty fair - quickly. And the Barton Grange Garden Centre sells good quality fresh meat, chicken etc. in their Farm Shop.
There are good walks including Beacon Fell which has good views over the Fylde coast and Blackpool Tower seems visible from everywhere.
Trish and I highly recommend that if you are looking for a holiday of peace and quiet, but not too far from the madding crowd, then you should definitely give Pam and Mick a ring and rent their Garden Cottage for your holiday.

Room Tip: Although there is no swimming pool, there is a private one just 5 - 10 minutes walk away - Ask Pam a...

Oh goodness me you are so kind, it was the least we could do for such lovely people, who became more like friends. Yes we did give the others a run for their money at the quiz, good job we didn't win though, you would have had to return next year to set the questions. Many thanks to you both and the pans are used daily! Hope to see you again.

The ideal spot for a relaxing getaway with great views in a peaceful countryside setting. Lovely little cottage, well equipped and a truly delightful welcome pack which included a home-made cake! Guests are free to roam the large gorgeous garden and play with the 2 very friendly & welcoming dogs. Pam & Mick will do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable, such a warm & helpful couple. Located on the edge of the Forest of Bowland, which is truly one of England's undiscovered gems. Would definitely recommend and hope to return again sometime.

The warmth of our welcome more than made up for the damp weather (well it was at the end of the 2nd wettest year on record). The accommodation was warm and comfortable. Given opportunity, will return and will certainly recommend.

What a fabulous stay, Pam & Mick made us so welcome, even though we were only staying overnight, a welcome pack with bread, butter coffee milk, was just what we needed.Everything you could possibly want for your stay is included,a beautiful room with spectaular views, and a comfortable bed for the end of the day was sheer bliss.
The Garden Cottage is in a beautiful area close to Beaon Fell & The Forest of Bowland, also within easy reach of the motorways.
Everything is immaculate, and the cottage is set in Pam & Mick's beautiful garden, of which they are rightly proud.

Stayed here twice this year, absolutely lovely place with everything you need for a relaxing break!
Already planning our next visit, Pam is so friendly and will help you all she can to make sure you have an amazing time! Wine, milk, bread, jam, chocolate etc all given on arrival which is a lovely touch, also got us an anniversary card which was a very nice and personal touch.
Couldn't recommend this play highly enough!
Look forward too seeing you and all your animals again soon!!

I stayed here with my husband and daughter for the Easter weekend 2012 and we all had a lovely time!

The owners went to a lot of effort to make us feel welcome; our daughter was thrilled to receive an Easter egg from them!

The cottage is lovely and cosy and is very well equipped; the owners have thought of everything.

The location was perfect for a relaxing weekend away and there are lots of lovely places to go for walks nearby. We will be returning very soon!
