“Great hotel - bit noisy outside on Saturday nights (obviously)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2014

Immaculate room, comfortable bed, wonderful staff - it's more than worth its money. It's in a great location and it's affordable and probably the best value for money hotel in Preston.

I only have two criticisms -

1. My room was quite warm, so I had to have the window open to sleep but that made it quite noisy which meant I was woken up by sirens, loud groups on the road outside etc - catch 22.

2. The shower wasn't very powerful but that was at 10.30am and on the 5th floor so probably to be expected in any hotel.

Room Tip: Request a high floor with a room facing away from the road if you like the quiet.

Hi There,

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of Preston Central, i am so proud that you think were the best value hotel in the city and also your comments about the staff will be passed on to the whole team. Regarding your room being too hot you can adjust the a/c to cold air, the next time you stay with us please ask at reception and we will show you how. As for the water pressure being a bit low, we are replacing all the shower heads as we speak so that this problem will be rectified.

Thank you once again for your feedback and we hope to welcome you back in the future.

Kind Regards

Sharon D

If you have to stay in Preston overnight then the Preston Central Premier Inn is a decent place to be. Parking might be a little inconvenient but not too bad for a city centre hotel. Staff are so friendly and helpful it would be silly to stay anywhere else on a budget.

The hotel offers a comfortable stay near the city center. The staff was so friendly and as it is told that the breakfast is really continental. You can start a day with a fully filled stomach with plenty of good food. The rooms were big tidy and clean. You ll find anything you need from a hotel during the stay. Strongly recommending.

A great price for a hotel in an ideal location right in the city centre. Affordable car parking right next door. The rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast offered a good selection. Unlike some hotels the bar area was warming and the drinks were reasonably priced.
The real gem though were the staff, all were very friendly and helpful.

The noise around the hotel meant we didn't sleep well at all, there was a group on the courtyard for much of the night shouting, and building works very early on in the morning. You expect noise as it's a city, but they were there for far too long and should have been moved on.

Other than that, the room was good, the staff were very polite.

I'd stay again, but I'd request a room higher up and to the other side.

The room was extremely expensive for a budget hotel too.

Hi Matt.S,

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of our hotel. I'm very sorry that you didn't get a good nights sleep due to noise from people outside the hotel, unfortunately we do have issues on the weekend as Preston can get very busy with a lot of clubs staying open until 5a.m. However if you do stay with us again we can put you on the back of the hotel were it is quieter, also we are waiting to get triple glazing put in on the front of the hotel which we hope will help reduce noise issues for guests.

Thank you once again for your feedback and i really hope you will stay with us again in the future.

Kind Regards

This is a new Premier and very well presented. The only concerns that I had were that it was a bit of a challenge to find the entrance (and kerb appeal was not good!) and a colleague, who drove, had a real challenge in parking close by (no car park, one way and bollards!)

Breakfast layout was a little confusing! But the food was satisfactory.

I stayed with my wife at the Preston Central Premier Inn for one night in connection with the PTC Grand Finals in snooker in the nearby Guild Hall. Location is excellent, no more than a five minute walk from everything in the Preston city center.

We arrived before our room was ready, and it was no problem having the hotel hold our luggage until we could check-in later on. Actual check-in was done on self-service automats (standard procedure at Premier Inn, I think), but a very service-minded employee guided us thorugh it step-by-step. We could have done it ourselves without any problems, I think, but as it was our first time at a Premier Inn, I think he chose to guide us all the way through.

The room was quite large, with a desk, sofa, double-bed and a fairly large bathroom. Everything was as it should be! We had premier breakfast included in our reservation, and the staff in the breakfast restaurant were among the nicest and most serviceminded I have encountered in any UK hotel. Breakfast itself was better than in many other economy class hotels I have tried.

All in all we paid about £75 for room, breakfast and 24h Wifi, and although Premier Inn is not among the most exciting or beautiful of hotels, I think that was quite good value for money.
