“1 night voucher staly”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

stopped in room 8 for 1 night DB&B in July using Voucher. The Hotel is a wedding Hotel, believe there are only 8 rooms, situated north of Knot-end, bit off the beaten track, which was fine for us.

The building nice and interesting, probably around 19th cent., many original features and great gardens for sitting. No 8, back of hotel, spacious and clean with large bathroom.

stayed for dinner on arrival, excellent food at about £25 per head, small friendly dining room.
Breakfast was good, but no breakfast option offered, although I didn't ask (i.e. no breakfast menu)
Family run and all staff very helpful and friendly

Had our wedding here on Friday and it couldn't have gone more perfectly!
Room was decorated beautifully and the food was fantastic.
The sun was shining so we was able to take full advantage of the lovely gardens for our wedding photos!
Would definitely recommend,
Thank you to Leisha and everyone who made our special day perfect!

My wife and I enjoyed an excellent two night break with breakfast and a three course evening meal over two nights. The surroundings are tastefully furnished and the atmosphere in the hotel and garden makes you feel relaxed and at peace. The food was very good and the service first class. All in all we had a lovely time even though the weather was not good. I would definitely recommend this hotel as one of the best I've stayed in on holiday in the UK.

Room Tip: A room with a garden view is the one to opt for!

Had a lovely stay here for 1 night using a voucher deal. Even though there was a wedding booked in at the same time, we were not relegated as less important guests and the staff were very friendly. We wished we had booked 2 nights here, as it is set in a prime location with both country and coast to choose from. Quality ingredients in our fully cooked breakfast too. Definitely would recommend!

Stayed here last Saturday overnight with a couple of friends for dinner b&b.
Beautiful house and lovely antique feel to the place. Arrived quite early so we knew we couldn't check in so asked the 2 ladies at reception what there was to do in the local area. Astonished when they replied they dont really know as they are not acquainted with the area as they have only been there 4 years!! I would have thought that was plenty of time enough to get to know the highs and lows of selling your business!! After scanning a few old leaflets(dated 2010) we were given a couple of options from other guests, visit Garstang or take the ferry from Knotts End up the road over to Fleetwood. We made the mistake of going for the latter. What a depressing place is Fleetwood... a sad Victorian façade backed by a grim market and an enormous empty pub. Clearly this town has seen better days.....
Back to Knotts End and the one high spot was a great pub called The Bourne.(unknown to the owner of Springfield House so we gave her a card...) I would definitely recommend their wonderful freshly cooked food and home made pies. Music was fab too. Really enjoyed our lunch there overlooking the sea.
Dinner at the hotel was nice but not stunning. We all paid the extra and ordered steak and chips. Good but it was more like a roast dinner without the veg!! The steak was quite thinly cut beef and came with sort of little roast spuds and some stir fried peppers. Pepper sauce was good though and the sticky toffee pud and shortbread with raspberry coulis were fab. Unfortunately they forgot to give us the free bottle of wine that was included in the deal.
We stayed in the 2 honeymoon suites (our room was room 5) and it was a lovely 4 poster. The bed was amazingly comfy. Had the best nights sleep for years (having dozed off watching the Eurovision Song Contest!) .
Breakfast was very good too but when we were checking out we couldn't find the proprietor and had to go looking in the kitchen!.
All in all it was a comfortable stay but with a bit more attention to detail it could be stunning. Clearly the proprietors rely on their wedding venue business which is a bit sad for everyone else!.

Room Tip: The 2 honeymoon suites are beautiful . We had room 5.

One of our best stays. We stopped there after our visit to the Lake district. The staff is very helpful, the bedrooms are great and very comfortable, the dinner was excellent !
I asked for cream tea the following day, and the hotel ordered some clotted cream specially for our party of 6 !
We benefited from an excellent deal on Groupon. We shall go again. Thanks a lot to Leisha and her mother !
