Went today = pretty park running from Preston Town centre down to the river. Band stand, café, rock gardens, beautiful big trees. Go over the bridge into a wild nature reserve with wide pathways. Beautiful and quite romantic.

Avenham park is simply gorgeous, especially the bit where you can see the Japanese gardens. The only reason I cannot give it five stars is as the toilet facilities were extremely poor and dirty. Other than that, a lovely place to go for a walk on a sunny day.

Loveley, well maintained. Great fountain; steps up to the top level gives a grand feel to the whole park

A great spot for dog walking and love the history behind the place. Lived in Preston for 35yrs and only recently discovered it, amazed that it was under my nose after all these years! Good to combine with a drink at the Continental or head the opposite way to Walton Le Dale.
