Sunday13th July decided to have a drive out to Chipping, one of the places we have enjoyed for many years. The drive in should have been a clue to what lay ahead, the top overflow car park was empty and overgrown, but as we drove down to the main area that too was rather neglected, and no longer had a view of the park itself. We went to the far end to park up, very few visitors so lots of choice. In the past we had accessed a track which lead to the lamas, reindeer, and goats and pot bellied pigs, but today large metal sheets made into a gate had been place across the track, we walked back through the carpark, there was some activity in the open barn where children and their parents where talking to RABBITS in cages !! The thing that struck us was the LAMINATED signs which were everywhere and I mean everywhere. don't do this don't do that, over & over, off putting and not in keeping with the rural working farm . On a plus point the owners have always provided hand washing facilities, We then found three wallabies these in an overgrown area, the mini diggers for children not in use, weeds everywhere, no new animals in some time and the Wild boar are not featured heavily enough, these are situated on the riverside walk, very large fully grown ones and lovely hum bug striped youngsters. The café outside sitting area neglected and rubbish not cleared away, the 'Eco building has dirty windows and does not appear to be in use. 65 acres it needs to be filled with interesting animals this is such a great setting.
