“Steam train. ”

For anyone who likes Victorian steam strains or just trains in general. (Or if you where just in the neighbourhood like me) it's a great way to kill 30-40 minutes of your time while enjoying a ride on a lovely steam train.

A really good railway with fantastic exhibits with a great train and bus link with Preston station only 5 minutes away.

The staff are fantastic and are really helpful and understand what you are on about, the buffet car is really good with a charming volunteer who mans it.

“Great value fun!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2014

I knew there was a steam railway in Preston but never realised it was such a hidden gem! An outing for family visitors during the bank holiday weekend including my train mad 3 year old nephew and everyone enjoyed it. The museum was a big surprise, very well laid out with lots if engines and carriages, play areas and miniature train ride for children. The steam train journey with buffet car was excellent. The teddy bears picnic was a real bonus, free face painting and a quiz which entertained a 6 year old girl for whom trains would not be the first choice for a day out! An excellent outing, soon to be repeated!

Great day out for family/kids and friends. Plenty to do and play with. You can also have a ride on the steam train which is included in the reasonable entrance fee.
