Description: The Nabs Head Hotel is situated in the hamlet of Nabs Head, Samlesbury within the picturesque countryside just outside the city of Preston and not far from Blackburn & Chorley. This delightful pub is the ideal watering hole for weary travellers (cyclists, walkers, runners, families, etc.), We serve proper Lancashire food in a warm and friendly environment. In partnership with Daniel Thwaites Brewery we have 4 Beer Engines showcasing seasonal ales and guest beers from the Crafty Dan Brewery.

Tried the new Tapas Menu on Tuesday , fantastic food with a nice variety of options and great value for money. The service was good as was the quiz later on in the evening. Will definitely be back for more

Thank you for taking the time to write your review, please note that the Tapas menu is unfortunately no longer available but we do serve the full menu in its place on Tuesday evenings 5pm to 7pm, followed by the quiz.

This is the first time we have visited this pub in the last few years and we shall certainly return in the near future. The pub was warm and cosy with a few locals also dining there, (which is a good sign).
Our meal took a little time to arrive, but as it was obviously freshly cooked we were not put out by the wait.
My partner had the fish and chips which he said were the best he had ever had, with beautifully cooked chips (not the soggy frozen ones many restaurants serve) and there was a substantial piece of fish with a nice light batter.
I had a lovely piece of salmon with a White Wine and Prawn Sauce served with fresh vegetables. Beautifully cooked and HOT which made a nice change.
We shall certainly recommend to friends and neighbours.

I used to love the Royal Oak at Riley Green before it got taken over. I have now found out where the manager and chef went...here.! I had never had a bad meal there...until it got taken over and ruined. But their loss is the Nabs Head's gain. The food is fabulous, with good portions. Been a few times now and have not been disappointed. Would recommend if you want good honest food and reasonable prices.

What a hidden gem this is. Went for lunch and was not disappointed had the 2 course special for senior citizens excellent value but the general menu excellent. Nice presentation and tasty too. Very peaceful and relaxing lunch slightly spoilt by a male other side of the bar who spent at least 30 mins on his mobile discussing his business and cavity wall insulation !!! Obviously no confidentiality issues as we heard every word of his conversation. We will return before xmas to try their seasonal menu
