We were taken to The Pattern Arms by friends whilst staying in Preston. To us the Patten Arms seemed miles from anywhere as we passed many pubs on the way. Our friends said we would not be disappointed when we got there and we were not. The food was excellent and the place very busy which is always a good sign. The portions however are for those with a large appetite so be warned. We will certainly be going again if in the area

I booked a table here for a family meal on Father's Day. We were not disappointed, our food was delicious and there was certainly enough of it! The children's meals were good, they enjoyed them and their ice creams for pudding. All the staff we had contact with were very friendly and welcoming. This is an old fashioned country pub serving tasty meals with a smile.

Called in with the family whilst we were on holiday on Lancaster Canal. We were lucky to get in on a Saturday night without booking, the restaurant was fully booked but we managed to get a table in the bar. A real northern pub meal with none of the fancy dressed up dishes with little on the plate. The steak pie is recommended and is full of meat accompanied with fresh vegetables and a good helping of chips.

A country pub with a restaurant. Sounds like so many others but is so different. Freshly cooked food in a pleasant atmosphere.

The service was a little slow even when the restaurant was quiet but the wait is certainly worth it. The bar area of the pub was very busy and there was a wait to get served. The portion sizes are enormous and the food is superb.
