“Fantastic little trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 September 2013

These camping pods are brilliant. I was unsure when my husband booked it as I'm not really a camping person, I still would not camp in a tent but we will definitely be returning to here. Alex the guy that runs it is really helpful and friendly. The pods are really cute and stay warm at night, all the pods have a little light in them. At night there is such a lovely atmosphere, there are little camp fires all arounds. Although Blackpool is only 15mins drive away you actually feel like you are a million miles away as this place is so relaxed and quiet. The communal lodge is lovely, there is 3 new wet rooms, kitchen which has tea and coffee already stocked and a lovely communal room with sofas and board games. Outside there is a smaller pod which is filled full outdoors games items. Our dog loved the walks around the beautiful lake. We will definatly be coming back here soon. Thanks Alex

Great location by a lake, friendly staff (Alex was great with us) and good facilities in the lodge including 4 individual bathrooms with showers and a kitchen with microwave, toaster, fridge, freezer, kettle and tea and coffee.

Great place for a glamping trip, particularly if you like fly-fishing as it is right next to a lovely lake which has recently been restocked. The camping pods are warm and have a bed and mattress, you just need to bring bedding/sleeping bag. If you are staying in one of camping pods then there is £5 off a fishing ticket.

They have free BBQs to use (just bring your coals with you) and you can buy firewood there if the weather is nice, if not, they have a lovely warm lodge with leather sofas and decking overlooking the lake.

Book early as it does get full up quickly, particularly when there are events on (they have a bonfire night event and regularly have bands playing in the lodge on an evening).

Great little camping pods with added bonus of two beds. Very comfortable stay with my two young kids (4 and 7). Lovely location on large field next to a lake. Close to Blackpool approx 15 mins. On site a Large lodge contains three clean showers and toilets. There is a small kitchen and lounge room overing looking lake that anyone can use to chill. Dog's allowed and mine loved it. Run by Alex who was happy to help with anything. BBQ's and fire pits available free of charge. Small charge for fire wood.
We stayed seven nights. We would defo return and recommend it to others.

Just back from spending one night here with a family of four. Really great experience, brilliant location if you want to visit Blackpool but want somewhere away from the craziness! Very friendly, helpful welcome, pods are basic but comfortable. Take a fitted sheet if you don't want to be encased in your sleeping bag! Gorgeous trout lake where you can watch the trout jump. We had a real fire at night, as did most people, which is a big bonus as majority of campsites are really opposed to them. We roasted marshmallows then went to bed about half ten. Unfortunately the group next door made no attempt at being quiet so that kind of ruined my experience and I would not return. My kids were fine and slept, I'm just very fussy where noise is concerned. Owner had reassured me and said there'd be some patrolling but he was away. Anyway, don't be put off, it's a great family experience with lots of glamping benefits!

Hello,

Thank you for your kind review.

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and especially the lake with the jumping trout and campfires. There's sometimes nothing better than chilling out and relaxing in front of an open fire, it creates a fantastic atmosphere on site.

Sorry to hear the pod next to you was a little noisy, I usually do have a walk around at 10.30pm / 11pm to check that all is quiet. Apologies.

In 2014 we'll be living on site (as soon as planning permission is granted), so this will certainly stop any late night noise. I do hope this isolated incident won't put you off visiting us again in the future.

Many thanks,
Alex

Just returned after 2 nights. There were 3 families staying in 3 Pods. The Pods are insulated and kept us warm all night without an issue. There is room for 4 people if you take your own blow up beds for the 3rd and 4th. Very clean, light and bright. First time we have stayed in a Pod having tried camping a few times, we are converted as it make a huge difference not having to mess around with a tent.

The site is about 15 minutes from Blackpool so ideal if you want days out.

There is a fishing lake on site plus a block housing a kitchen, toilets showers and communal seating area.

A selection of out door toys, plus fire pits and the odd BBQ are also available to use.

Alex the Manager is great, very friendly and welcoming. He even arrange entertainment in the communal area, a singers paying a guitar, an excellent surprise.

Overall we were very impressed and would highly recommend a visit.

Thanks

Hello,

Thank you for your kind review.

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and especially the musicians.

The 'musicians camp for free' promotion has been and a great success and something we'll carry on doing in the future.

Hopefully see you again in 2014,

Many thanks,
Alex
