The Harris Free Library and art gallery has a history of its own and the employees there are great guides to exhibits and the building itself.

“Great museum”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

Lovely day out. Nice sandwich lunch in the cafe followed by fun children's activities (badge making). Our 5 year old really liked taking part in the quizzes to encourage children to find items in the museum. Lots to see and do for young and old. We all learnt lots too.

“Step into a glorious past”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

We have been to Preston a number of time but we have never had the opportunity to visit this museum/gallery.

The building is really stunning and reminds you of how wealthy Preston once was. The fixed art gallery and temporary shows were very good. The history of Preston was fascinating including the Guilds and the Guild festival. The museum also has a nice cafe under a wonderful roof above.

Preston has a proud history and some lovely architecture this is the gem. There is real hope that Preston can recover from the recession and re-discover its glory. Worth visiting.
