I purchased a groupon that was only valid for 4 weeks. For the first week they refused my booking as they hadn't recieved the list from groupon yet. Not sure why that would stop me booking a table? Then attempted to book again in the 4th week to be told they'd stopped offering the groupon. Avoid this restaurant, why would any restaurant take £20 from you then refuse you a meal?

Very disappointed. So many lovely pubs in that area, was looking forward to a nice country pub experience.
Got a groupon voucher for 4 steak meals and 2 bottles of wine. Restaurant needs a serious refurb, could look fantastic.
Starter menu was A5 paper print out that had been ripped in half. If you can't bother to present your menu nicely, what hope is there?

We were given the cheapest british 'white wine' and 'red wine' I had ever tasted and it looked like squash/water . It was an insult. The pub surely would not have tried to sell it to non groupon customers. It was so bad W
we refused it and paid extra for drinks.
Pub website boasts good menu, it now only
does steaks regardless of groupon.
They had run out of tomato ketchup, they undercooked our steaks, wine awful, forgot cutlery and no check back, no dessert menu offered, some lightbulbs missing (but probably because it would be too bright. But then If they bothered to but lampshades it would make a difference)groupons are
designed to make you return, I never
Will.

We got a Groupon voucher deal for four and had a lovely evening. The staff were friendly and welcoming. All of our steaks were cooked just the way we asked, payed extra for the dessert as this was not part of the Groupon deal, was well worth the money. It was yummy!
Overall a great night was had by all, will definately be back for more.

We had a Groupon for here which we used on Wednesday evening, probably should have realised how bad it was going to be when the barmaid/waitress just shook her head when I asked what the wine was!! She was very pleasant and jolly and actually apologised in advance of our meal! The wine was actually foul-we joked that we could use it to remove my nail polish. We both asked for our steak to be "medium"-obviously the chef didnt understand this request as both were very well done-the waitress agreed with us on this point but to be honest we couldnt face waiting whilst they were replaced as the whole setting was miserable.I thought the idea of a Groupon was to encourage people to return having had an enjoyable meal-well we definitely will not be back and have advised friends not to bother using their vouchers. It is a shame as we have memories of this being a lovely country pub which used to serve good food-and wine!!
