we thought we'd give the pub a chance at lunch and we were lured by the burger options. 30 mins later (pub was empty) we queried where the food was, the waitress stomped off to speak to the chef who was sitting having a drink on the other side of the pub - the food had been sitting in the lift.... rather than apologise and offer to cook up afresh plate, the chef delivered to us our cold food with a hint of a smirk on his face. not quite sure what they thought we were going to do, but we got a refund and visited M&S food hall instead
we will not be returning to sozzled sausage again
suggest they work on customer service and give the place a good clean as well

No food - despite menu outside, rude manager, disinterested staff. (hint, try Bistro Pierre almost next door for great food and service)

I came here with my family based purely on the reviews on Tripadvisor. It appears that the wonderful service, food and and atmosphere described all went away with departure of the previous owner.

We arrived on a hot Saturday afternoon asking for lunch (the pub was completely empty). We had tried to call to book, thinking it would be busy but the phone number on the website was constantly busy. On arrival, I was promptly and curtly told - we have no food. I enquired about the website menu and was told that it belonged to the previous owner, as did the menu outside. We left and went to a great little french bistro round the corner.

Strangely - later we walked past only to see a sign advertising bbq at 1.30pm onwards - when we saw this sign it was around 3pm and so I asked why they did not offer this at 1.30pm when we arrived in the first place the manager simply turned his back and walked away.

I have a feeling that a party of 5 adults and two young children was not the clientele they were seeking...

With this type of attitude the pub deserves to be empty (no where else in Leamington was)

After travelling 150 miles to celebrate a friends 40th, the Sozzled Sausage were happy to take our booking for 18. On arrival we were shocked at how shabby it was buit assumed this was part of the 'charm'.
We were put on 2 separate tables and became the walkway to the smoking rooom. A trip to the ladies can only be described as a health hazard-filthy toilets, no toilet roll, skanky floors-yuck.
We ordered our food (disappointingly not a sausage to be seen!) And then waitied....and waited....and waited. After complaining after almost an hour we were offered a discount and free drinks.
As we were all so hungry by then, we had every intention to eat whatever we were served. When the food started to arrive-some 30 minutes later, we were utterly astounded at what they were serving us. Food was cold, steak grey, rubbery and fatty, burgers burnt, mushrooms rock hard, chips cremated, eggs solid and rubbery. When questioned the waiting staff grimaced and said they wouldn't eat the food if served it, but were expecting us to!!
In fairness the waiting staff were very embarassed and were very polite and sympathetic. We left paying £5 each, never to return and enjoyed a lovely meal at Cafe Rouge!

Really enjoyed my meal at the SS. I would recommend it to anyone looking for good food and wine. The fish and chips were great.

We used to go here quite often when we moved to Leamington a couple of years ago. I think it may have been taken over by new management - it used to be quite a cosy place for a nice drink with a decent courtyard area (albeit a bit dirty). Now they seem to insist on playing thumping dance music at all hours of the day and night - the last two times we have considered going there we have actually got as far as opening the door, turned around and gone elsewhere.

If you are in the area go to the Clarendon instead!
