Super cute and kitschy bar and diner with a 1950’s feel, serving delicious and wholesome yummy food!
We had the special of the day, smoked haddock chowder, and a big hunk of home-made soda bread with butter – just what we needed to sustain us for the day in the icy blasts of Lancaster!
Lovely welcoming atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff offering a range of very affordable, locally sourced, home-made options. We will be back to try the doorstep toasties :)

Each time I visit Lancaster I make it a must to eat at Soupanova. The homemade soup and sandwiches are delicious and generous portion sizes too. Flavours you will have never heard of before and for the cautious people out there who are a little worried about trying new tastes or making the wrong decision - don't worry, little taster pots are offered so that you can try all that's on offer to ensure that you make the right choice.

I should also mention vegetarians, vegans, etc are all catered for.

Definitely the best soup I've ever tasted!

I remember visiting Soupanova some years ago and being impressed with the soup but I have to say it was very average at my latest visit. The soup was very bland and the bread on the stale side, also having to wait for the kettle to boil to have a coffee just didnt feel right.

They have a massive board telling you why you like the place. How utterly pretentious . After getting some soup, served in a mis-matched dinner set, sat at a layby cafe quality table and chairs , I watched as the owner told her new member of staff all about her ills as she coughed all over the food. Not washing her hands to serve a further 4 customers I witnessed before leaving in disgust,

Soupernova reads the souperscription but theres nothing souperficial about this souper little soup shop. The friendly souperintendent soupervises the soup making souperbly showing she is in no need of superannuation. The souperlative soups on show are served to soupernatural souperfluidity at souperhuman speed, and are souperior to their soupercilious shop bought counterparts. So avoid the soupermarket soupertax, soupersede your souperstitions, soupervene your soup based soupressions and head to soupanovas souperstructor at soupasonic speed.
