I stayed here with my boyfriend mid March as we had a family party to go to nearby. He used to drink in this pub when he was at uni and loved it there. The pub and our room looked lovely and modern. We had a HUGE bed, room was decorated really nicely and bathroom was nice too - just what you want! We had paid £95 though but it definitely lived up to our expectations. Breakfast was also included and was AMAZING! I had a full english and only top ingredients used (I have issues with cheap sausages!!!!).
Would definitely recommend staying here and eating/drinking here!

I stayed in The Sun Bar and Inn with my friend on the 5th April 2014. We had a few drinks in various bars in the centre of lancaster but found The Sun the most relaxing. It has a great selection of ales, wines and the food was lovely.
We stayed in room 24 which we found a little warm and on the small side (especially for 2 ladies with lots of clutter). Despite this our stay was comfortable and I could not fault the breakfast. The choice was probably the best breakfast choice I've seen with full breakfast, cereals, fresh baked bread, eggs boiled, fried, poached or scrambled. There were also kippers, smoked salmon, fruit salad and various other bits and bobs.
Staff were attentive and friendly. The rooms was very clean and well equipped with ironing board, iron etc...
The price was £80 between the two of us which I found a little expensive but I suppose it is city centre. Great location for the castle, shopping and restaurants. Would consider staying again as it would be a good place to stay as a couple.

Just spent a Saturday night and we liked it. The bar and beer is superb and brace yourself for breakfast. Its awesome. Location is brilliant although there is no car park. We used 'park safe' round the corner which is fine but costs £12 for 24 hours. The room we have was great. Big bed, nice bathroom, decent size TV and coffee and tea making facilities. The place is 'buzzing' in the evening and can be tricky to get a seat but that's not an issue. The beer is superbly kept and the bar staff work hard to keep it flowing. Lancaster is a nice place to visit and we wouldn't hesitate to stay in the sun again. Nice place.

Happy with the room - good bed, clean, lovely, attention to detail. Shower very slow though. Breakfast however - big dissapointment. Luke warm tea - helping yourself from a flask thermos. Coffee served in a similar way. My partner finished earlier and left - I was sitting at his table. Neither his nor my used plates were taken away - while there was only 1 more customer and 2 waitreses chatted loudly without paying any attention. My fried potato was burned and poached egg covered in the boiled water - tasteless. the plain yogurt was promised but never brought. Bad food you can forget but not a bad service - a shame really as otherwise the hotel is good.

An excellent, quirky hotel in Lancaster. It is very conveniently located. The room we stayed in was small but had everything we needed for a lovely break. The bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choice and one member of staff even made a trip to the shop to buy white bread for my toast, which was much appreciated! Highly recommended!

Really good little hotel. Rooms above the pub/restaurant are newly refurbished and while not huge are very comfortable. The breakfasts are good, freshly cooked and of Northerner proportions. We had an evening meal there which was the best of our stay. Well recommended.
