I popped in here as i was looking for something to do with my little boy that was also free. This is a great little museum for that. The dinosaurs and the mammoth were a big hit as well as the dalek in the stairwell which was loved by my little dr who fan. There are a number of interesting exhibitions and i was pleasantly suprised at just how much was in this little building. The only downside for me was after climbing all the stairs to get to the toilet we found we needed to go all the way back to reception to get a key to unlock the toilets - not great with a 5yr old child. But still it is definitely a great place to go to spend an hour.

Times are tough and it must be very tough keeping this place going, given it's totally free to get in. We enjoyed looking round for about an hour. Managed to get an hour's free parking right outside, which was great for a weekday afternoon during February half term.

Our daughter loved the animatronic T-Rex dinosaur that made you jump when you arrived. The fossils discovered in Dudley was fascinating.

Of particular note is the room upstairs dedicated to Duncan Edwards, the footballer that died so tragically young in the 1958 Munich air disaster. It's worth the trip to see this alone. We knew nothing about Duncan, but couldn't stop thinking what might have been by the time we left.

The only thing that wasn't enjoyable was my wife going up three flights of stairs to go to the toilet only to find that it was locked and you have to go all the way back to reception to get a key off them.
