“Perfect staff, perfect location.”
Reviewed 26 August 2014

Stayed here one night with two children after visiting Yorkshire Wildlife Park. The staff were very friendly on arrival, checking if we would like more tea for the room when we said we were looking forward to a cup of tea. The family room was clean, spacious with a lovely view over the lake. Beds and pillows were comfortable and the bathroom facilities were good. Large flat screen television. Quiet location both inside and outside the hotel. There is half an hour free Wi-Fi included and this was ample for our stay.

Ate at the Brewers Fayre next door. We were there before 6.30 pm so took advantage of the special deals on meals and desserts. Children's meals were eaten quickly so they could make use of the indoor play centre until it closed at 8.00 pm.

Had breakfast the next morning. Served by a very pleasant member of staff. Good self service choice of juices, cereals, toast, etc followed by served cooked breakfast.

The reception staff were very helpful, looking up times of activities at the nearby Dome. Nothing was too much trouble and the hotel should be congratulated on their choice of reception staff.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel face the lake.

Stayed here for one night as had a day at the races with early evening concert. Staff very friendly & welcoming & the room was spacious, clean & very adequate. The bed very comfortable with lovely soft pillow. Large flat screen tv with excellent quality picture & nice bathroom facilities. Would definitely stay here again.
Down side -the Brewers Fayre next door where breakfast is served & meals up to 10pm -very bad experience with disappointing meal. Also when booked this accomodation for the night info stated 15 mins walk to racecourse & staff told us 5-10 mins walk. It was actually nearer 30 minutes, so after standing for most of the afternoon & evening & the walk to the racecourse & back-we were extremely tired.

Room Tip: If booking to visit the racecourse , make sure you are ok to walk the longer than stated distance...

This is an unusual review because we didn't actually stay at this hotel. We were booked into the Premier Inn Lakeside, but didn't realise that there were two close together. We had been at Doncaster Racecourse and had tried to get a taxi back to our hotel after the races and concert finished. We had been told that we would be able to get one outside at the end, that taxis would just drive up in a line to pick people up, but after a few were waiting, no more arrived and there were a lot of people in front of us in the queue. We asked a policemen if it was possible to walk to the Premiere Inn as it had looked like that when we booked and he said yes, about 15 minutes, and gave us directions. As it looked like it would take much longer than that to get a taxi we set off, me in my raceday finery (not stiletto heels thank goodness but high for me). Eventually, having to stop at Asda to ask again, we found a Premiere Inn but not the right one! We went in anyway, to find out directions and how long it would take to walk to the right one, or in the hope that they had a hotline to a taxi firm. They did phone one, but it would have been 2 hours they said, so one of the receptionists, the truly heroic Cheryl (please give her a pay rise) said did we mind a trip in her car which was used for transporting her son and his footballing friends, and she'd drive us! I couldn't believe it, but she did (and the car was no where near as muddy as she had feared) and didn't even want to accept any petrol money. What a star! Thank you Cheryl. You saved my aged feet!

The staff were very helpful and friendly and rung us the day before arrival to ask if we would like to book a taxi to the racecourse which was greatly appreciated. Nice clean rooms although no air conditioning which would have been a bonus. Would recommend a stay here and breakfast at the pub next door was lovely.

Excellent hotel. Quiet and little disturbance at night. Close to the motorway network.
The family room was a good size and a cot was provided for our baby just as requested. We chose this hotel as it was half way along our journey to a festival and it was nice to break up the travel

It is not easy to find the car park at this Premier Inn at night; the manager acknowledged that better signage was needed, but having finally reached the reception desk we were very satisfied. The room was clean and comfortable - although having booked twin beds it would have been nice to have had two the same rather than one king size and one smallish single. Breakfast was excellent - much better than in many much more expensive hotels. And everybody working there was very nice and helpful.
