this guest house is a guest house without 24 hours service. We wanted to tell them about our arrival, but there was an answering machine. It said a mobile number which was very hard to understand, so we had to ring it three times to get the number right. But noone answered the mobile! So we just went there. The keys were lying openly in an open room. We tried to find the rooms, which were described on the envelopes.
The single room was directly at the street with its own entrance. It was not very warm and somehow we didn't feel so safe. We couldn't manage with the keys at first, it was a type of security / panic - door and not easy to close.
The double room was well heated and the bathroom was ok.

The next morning everything was fine. We got a very good breakfast and a very good service.

Room Tip: not on ground floor

I think there have been vast improvements to this place because I found it quite pleasant for the price. I had a large room at the back of the building and it was clean and quiet. The bathroom was clean and modern. There was a large flat-screen TV and plenty of plug sockets around for my gadgets. The wallpaper in my room looked new and although the carpet was old it was clean. I saw that some of the other rooms had wooden floors so perhaps this carpet will be upgraded soon.

I didn't eat a fried breakfast, but the toast/cereal/tea was fine.

Contrary to other reports, there were TWO bottles of shower gel in the bathroom (not that I expect to find this kind of stuff in a B&B, you're not in a five star hotel). The walls are thin and other guests/reception start early (I heard a radio from 6.45am on both days I was there) so if you're looking for a relaxing lie in, you're probably not going to get it here. If you arrive in the evening, there will be no one around to greet you so if you're not ok with that situation, best to look elsewhere. I had no problems with it. Really, for the price you pay this place is fine: clean, warm and secure.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back to avoid noise from the road, which can be quite busy. Windows are double...

We stayed in Hanna's on the 14th/15th of October. We had all the information we needed to enter as we were not greeted upon arrival but we were also very late. The B&B is just in the village of Tickhill which is lovely to visit with nice pubs and restaurants. It is 10 minutes outside Doncaster. The rooms are basic but have a TV and tea making facilities. They are en-suite and the bathrooms were again basic but clean. Breakfast is indeed one egg, one bacon, and one sausage but they are all large with tomatoes and help yourself toast and cereal. For the price of £35 you get what you expect. There are no surprises and no disappointments. I will stay again in Hanna's when working in Tickhill and would recommend it. I do emphasis the basic element of the accommodation though, however it is clean throughout.

Stayed 1 night out of necessity as unable to find other accommodation in Tickhill. The key was left in the sun room in an envelope as informed. The reception was behind bars. The room was ok but not luxurious as stated on their website. We had a room at the front of the house which was very noisy. The bathroom was clean and we were provided with 2 towels, some hand soap and a shower gel container with a few dregs in the bottom. The bathroom had a sign on a door leading to another bedroom? -" Fire door keep locked shut when not in use!!". The breakfast was largely a DIY affair which was fine. The cooked breakfast adeqate. The bread for toasting was still in its wrapper and out of date. A warm welcome most certainly does not await you at Hannah's. We have since found out that we could have stayed elsewhere for £30 per night in a much better room.

Ideal for the purpose of visiting friends in the area. Key left in an envelope and lots of trust placed, which was good to know. Towels provided but strangely no soap/shower gel in the shower; Hand wash provided. Rooms well heated and good quality T.V. Breakfasat facilities were fine. Good location for a business person visiting Tickhill with plenty of places to eat and drink within walking distance. Adequate parking. Communal hairdryer (fine) but mirror and plug not close together in room 1.

Room Tip: front rooms overlook main road, but not busy.

I stayed at Hannah's for two nights. They put me in a reasonable sized room at the front of the house. It was very noisy from the traffic. There was a dangerous step between the bedroom and en-suite. There was clear windows in the bathroom so one had to be careful to pull the blinds down, even when going to the loo.
The decor was very tired throughout. the bedroom TV had only terrestial channels (boring) available. The remote did not work. I asked them if they would replace the batteries, they said yes, then didn't.. There was no staff around at night. The High speed internet was not available either. At breakfast I shared the tiny dining room with a crowd of builders who were swearing noisily throughout (terrific!). There was poor choice at breakfast cereals and a tiny so called 'full english'. One slice of bacon, one sausage, one egg. Probably one of the worst B&Bs that I have stayed in. Tickhill is a nice village though.
