Myself and 7 friends booked pyjama pampering party. The upstairs apartment with adjoining bedroom was absolutely outstanding, along with the chocolate gifts, choice of DVDs and we games. We had dinner in the restaurant and both the food and the service were wonderful. From reception, porterage, therapy staff to waiter/waitresses- everyone was courteous, organised and friendly and along with my wonderful friends made it a hen night to treasure forever. Thank you!

I visited with a friend for a belated birthday trip for her. After a delicious lunch in the lounge, we had treatments in the hotel spa. The girls in there were very friendly, knowledgable and professional. We were made to feel very welcome, which cannot be said for other spa experiences! We left the spa feeling very relaxed and pampered. Highly recommend a visit.
Our rooms were very luxurious, with the comfiest beds! The rooms were very clean, and had everything that we could have needed.
We found the hotel staff to be friendly and helpful.
All in all, a very enjoyable visit, definitely a great place stay.

Room Tip: They make the most wonderful cocktails!

This was our third visit, and we were not disappointed. The room was superb, the food amazing. All that you could ask for in a 4 star hotel. If there was something to complain about, it would be nice to have softer pillows, and mugs instead of cups, for us northeners who like a brew in the morning
We would like to compliment both of our waitresses for exemplary service.

Room Tip: A must for a relaxing stay

Once more we have stayed at the Mount P. This time it was to attend a family funeral and to visit friends who live in Doncaster. The Mount pleasant is certainly the top choice hotel for miles around, we were compelled to stay at the Danum the last time we were in the town - absolutely no comparison. Our room was excellent with everything that we needed to be comfortable (though it would be great if all the bed linen were cotton rather than just the bottom sheet). The reception staff were always helpful, a problem with internet access was quickly fixed and oh dear! The day we left was very warm and we left our coats behind! A parcel was promptly dispatched to us at a reasonable cost. The restaurant was very good on both the evenings that we dined there and the breakfast was also very good. Dining room service is efficient and the staff are most pleasant and courteous. During the daytime the gardens at the rear of the hotel are lovely.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the main road.

Having booked the spa suite (the best room in the hotel) we were looking forward to our stay as we were getting married the morning of our stay ( we were however having a ceremony and full reception in Mexico a week later - thankfully!). Upon checking in we were given our room key and told that the duty manager would be with us to show us to our room. At this point there was no mention of checkout time or breakfast that was included in the room. After a short wait the duty manager met us in our room and showed us the features of the spa suite which was very impressive.
Upon further inspection we found a number of faults with the room and throughout our stay. Many of these were minor and I would have overlooked them as singular problems however the number of problems were so vast it lead to a unsatisfactory stay.
We had also booked a meal for later that evening and had the reservation confirmed to us, but the restaurant had no record of this being made. We were told that we would have to wait at least half an hour. After speaking to the duty manager he managed to get us seated in 5 minutes and upon entering the dining room we found only one (out of approximately 20) table occupied! We were given no explanation of this mistake and no recompense was offered.

Negative points
- the bedside lamp didnt work
- the DVD player didnt work
- the bath bombs as advertised on the website were not in the room and when I rang reception I was told these had not been given to premier rooms for the last 3 months (and yet they were still shown on the website that day)
- the TV remote was a substandard replacement for the original remote that was advertised and did not allow for full functionality of the TV
- the hotel had no record of our table reservation and only managed to seat us after a complaint was made to the duty manager
- the chunky chips that were served during the meal were substandard and tasted like undercooked cold oven chips!
- the waitress openly chewed gum while taking our orders (in a Michelin recommended establishment!)
- the wine list was removed without even being asked if we wanted to order - we had to request for it to be returned
- we had to ask for water for the table twice
- the in room info for the restaurant said service was attentive not intrusive. Waving to get a waiters attention was not what I call attentive
- the waitress was rude and did not know the details of the food that was on the menu
- the breakfast menu advertised continental meats (plural) however that was not a singular continental meat
- the breakfast menu advertised local meats (plural) however there was only 1 local meat
- when we were asked if we wanted toast we replied we did and the server just walked off, even though the menu showed their was a choice between wholemeal and white bread
- my teacup had no spoon during breakfast and there were only 3 tables occupied
- being charged for champagne that was part of the spa package we had paid when the room was booked
- the appalling attitude of the manager
- there was no privacy when using the WC, as legs of the person who was on the WC could be seen from the bed and there was no door to the WC
- the bathroom area had no door and therefore when using the jacuzzi the whole bedroom became hot and humid
- there was no air conditioning in the room
- every time you walked into the bathroom the extractor fan turned on which was not good during night toilet visits as the noise kept the other person awake
- no mobile signal in the hotel
- nothing in the mini bar except for 2 complimentary waters (additional drinks could be purchased from room service and had to pay the tray charge)
- there were no ice machines and if you wanted ice delivered there was a £3.50 charge!!

positive points
+ the food was wonderful (except for the chips)
+ the duty manager who showed us the room facilities was friendly and helpful
+ the spa suite had a wonderful double jacuzzi and sauna
+ the room was very clean

Upon checkout we spoke to the manager, in the hope that he would recognise the faults with our stay and make changes to improve the stay for others. I explained that many of my friends and family who had visited had raved about the food but were disappointed with customer service and unfortunately this was the same with our stay. At this point the manager became angered and did not seem to focus on the problems I explained to him with our stay. These may be trivial points but added up to a £299 stay and a £280 food bill I do not believe that these were acceptable. I believe that a manager who was bothered about his establishment and wanted to raise its profile in the local area would have written down our points and got back to us with improvements. However the manager only offered a very negative experience and a £50 discount. I was tempted not to take the refund as this was not the point of our complaint but after the final service by the manger I felt that it was just. Upon leaving another group of ladies who had used the spa package also complained about their stay - something about a wii remote not working and the DVD's that were advertised were not supplied. It obviously was not just us that were unhappy with our experience as the manger had firmly implied.

It is dissapointing to read the feedback which you have left. It was also very dissapointing on the day to recieve the feedback in the forth right manner that you and your partner choose. I did listen to your points and they were duly noted the ones that I considered needed action.
In terms of your negative points I can assure that if they are relevant I have taken the necessary action to ensure that they are corrected.
- The bath bombs were never part of your package for the Sanctuary Suite room as you had an ESPA gift which was included.
- The tv control has been replaced by control with less functionality in order that volume levels are controlled and so as guests cannot retune tv sets.
- Dvd Player does work no problems at all with it .
In respect of the restaurant and service levels having spoken with the staff I do find it difficult that if the levels were not to your satisfaction as to the reason a £20 plus gratuity was left at the end of the meal.
In respect of the room this is how we have chosen to design the room and may not have been to your own personal taste, no where is stated that there is air conditioning in any of our rooms.
It is very dissapointing as I stated at the time to state other peoples alleged opinions and to use them, I offered the £50 discount as a gesture of goodwill based upon your points raised.

Very impressive hotel.
Room was huge (king room), was well decorated and very clean and tidy.
Bathroom was huge with double bath and walk in shower.

Overall you wouldn't be dissapointed to be given our room in a 5 star hotel.

Visited this hotel for a romantic dinner for two with my partner on valentines day. Had the most romantic evening ever!! The staff made us feel incredibly welcome, the tables were beautifully decorated and the meal was to die for! The hotel even through in a free rose, balloon and chocies!! The only down side is that the drinks are a little on the expensive side, but I suppose that you pay for the service, and it really was first class! My only regret is that we didn't stay overnight as the photos I've seen of the rooms were beautiful. Also must give a special mention to all the staff on the night, each and every one just couldn't do enough for us, especially Dane (a cheeky chappy who work in the dining room, looked after us all night), the two young lads behind the bar (one was called Stew, didn't get the other fellows name but they were both great and knowledgable), the young thai lady (very polite and didn't stop smiling, again no name, sorry!) and also a special mention to the manager (he gave us a warm welcome and was very friendly and polite, it's a nice touch as you don't meet the manager most places you go. He ensured that we were exquisitely looked after by his staff all evening along with all the other guests, bravo Gareth!). Finally a big thank you to the Chef on the night, would loved to have thanked him personally but I can imagine he was still extremely busy, I just can't find words to sum up the high quality of the food! Will defiantly be visit again soon.... with my new fiancé :-D. Seriously, a visit to the mount pleasant restaurant is a must for anyone, a truly fantastic experience!!
