A friend invited us to Doncaster races on 'ladies day' which also had Kaiser Chiefs in concert the same evening.
This meant that all of Doncaster's hotels were very busy and the cheaper ones (Travelodge, Premier Inn etc) were fully booked....boo! So we had to up our game...and our budget!
So glad we did!
The best price we could find was £96 through a website called amoma.com which I had never heard of and was a little wary of. As it turned out, everything was fine and upon arrival we were told we were booked on a bed and breakfast basis, and we had thought we were room only...bonus!
The hotel fully deserves it's four stars. Traditional, classy decor. Well laid out.
The room we had was large, clean and comfortable The bed was huge, the bathroom had a shower cubicle (the shower cubicle door was a bit wonky but I'll forgive that) and a bath. There was a large desk should you have work to do, and there was a 2 seat sofa and large flat screen TV.
Bar prices were very reasonable for a hotel.

I had a full English and my partner had smoked haddock with poached egg. All were obviously made with quality ingredients and were...A friend invited us to Doncaster races on 'ladies day' which also had Kaiser Chiefs in concert the same evening.

I think every 4 star hotel I have ever stayed in has underwhelmed me in some way or other but Mount Pleasant has impressed me and rekindled my faith in the star rating system.
