I had never been to this area before and after a 6 hour drive found it to be very relaxing with pleasant lounge areas, good restaurant and excellent bedrooms. Located near the M18 and Robin Hood airport this makes for a good location if you are on the move or just want to relax for a few days. The bedroom was fantastic, very large, clean and comfortable. I stayed for two nights and if in the area again would choose this hotel.

This hotel was recommended by colleagues. It is slightly out of Doncaster but there are good transport links. Rooms are spacious and some are a little quirky, mine had a water bed! Big TV, free wireless internet and large bathroom. We ate in the bar the first night, a bit pricey but worth every penny. Superb food and very good service.Very good breakfast. will stay again.

Stayed here for a wedding at the begin of Sept, which was great but the hotel stay has not left a lasting impression. I have stayed in many hotels but this hotel is very strange in the layout and the styl, I would say what style. The outside looks very country looking and some pats of the inside are the same but then in other parts it try to be very modern. The bedroom had a sofa that my nan would have had and ornaments which was strange, really was like visiting family......The function food was good but the service from all the hotel staff was not personal and they seemed like roberts. We booked a BB rate is not worth the money. The breakfast was the big let down. I have stayed at Hiltons, Marriotts , Novotel and even budgets - Premier Inn hotel and their brekfast selection was bigger. It was a plated breakfast so no buffet to choose 2 sausages if you like. The cold buffet had ver little choice, more on the Premier Inn buffet, it was not even busy to say it was becasue it was busy.

I did read with interest your comments placed, my apologies for the hotel not being to your preferred tastes. Also with regard to your comments for breakfast we do have 30+ cold items on our cold breakfast buffet, and certainly with the hot breakfast you could have had as much hot breakfast as you would have liked, but obviously you would have to have told the waiting staff how much you would have liked upon placing your order.

I could not beleive the size of my room and began to worry that I had misheard the price - £59 B&B The bedroom was huge with a large sitting area, comfy sofa and Sky Sports! The bathroom was the size of some bedrooms I have had the misfortune to stay in. There was a separate, walk in shower ,as well as a bath.
Food was available and whilst not gourmet, it was absolutely fine, with a good bar and excellent , courteous service. I slept brilliantly on the mud bed (!) Try it. Try this hotel. It isn't glamorous but it is friendly, comfortable and excellent value.

We stayed in a delightful room, beautifully furnished with a sofa and desk in addition to the stunning four poster bed. The large bathroom was clean and well equipped and everything worked well. I even had a manicure in the Therapie Studio, very theraputic but I was lucky to be fitted in, advance appointments recommended! Breakfast was delicious and the staff were courteous, efficient and pleasant. We entertained four friends to dinner on the first evening and one on our second. I believe that the catering manager was not present on the first evening when the quality of the food was very good but not as well presented as it was on the second when his presence was clearly effective. We stayed for two nights and were sorry to leave.

As far as Doncaster itself is concerned we steered well clear of the town. As an ex-resident I can only say that it once was a lovely market town but those days are gone. Bawtry is an interesting little place though. We did need to send flowers whilst we were there and can recommend 'Busy Lizzie' Chequar Road which does not involve going right into Doncaster. 01302349818.

We have just returned from a much needed long weekend break. We deliberately chose a fully inclusive hotel, (Dinner, Bed and Breakfast) so that we could relax and have a good break without looking for places to eat. The AA 4 star gave us confidence that this was a good choice.
When we arrived we were pleased with the room and it's size and cleanliness. Although the TV was a little old fashioned, we didn't intend to watch much television anyway. Every day the room was cleaned and the sheets and towels changed - excellent.
We had booked a table at 8:00pm each night. The first night in the restaurant was good too, we were shown to a private lounge to have drinks and our order taken, we were then shown to the main restaurant for the meal. All in all very good, however the remaining meals did not live up to this.
Night two - we ordered at about 8:00 but were kept waiting until nearly 9:00 before we were shown to our table after asking what was happening. When the food arrived it was on cold plates, and was only luke warm. We were unable to finish it as it got cold before we could eat it. The breakfast the next morning we ordered cooked breakfast, but things were missing from our order. The following morning again we were served different things to those ordered. Also I would have accepted the food if we'd eaten in a Pub restaurant, but the quality and presentation was fit for an aspiring 15 year old hoping to get on a cookery contest.
A real disappointment, and certainly NOT worth the £538 paid for a three night stay.

Reception staff could have been more welcoming but the room more than made up for it. We chose an executive room which was huge with a really comfy bed, a truly fantastic bathroom and a comfortable sofa.
Only negatives were that one of the large fluffy towels was not large and fluffy but threadbare and scruffy however everything was spotless so I can forgive that. Would have liked more tea and coffee but could get more at reception. After hours service was extremely expensive for 2 drinks that were ordered in person and collected from the bar.
A lovely setting, cannot comment on the food as we stayed Room Only but would be happy to stay there again and highly recommend it to all.
