We stayed here as we were going to a party in Doncaster last week end. Its a nice hotel, maybe a bit expensive for what it is though. We were given the wrong key to our room initially and so entered someone elses room! Could have been embarrassing if they were actually there. This also happened to another couple too when they arrived....not a good start. Then when we wanted a drink at the bar later in the afternoon we waited ages to get served as the one and only person doing the checking in on reception is the same lady who serves at the bar. Anyway all was ok and breakfast was nice, So overall it was ok.

We stayed here for 2 nights for a wedding, when we checked in the girl was very pleasant, we were given a choice of two rooms but one room was quite dirty so we were put in room number 4. We did ask for a quiet room however we were not told that our room was above a function room and there was a 21st party on till midnight!!! We ate in the bar area and all we could hear was the kitchen staff shouting, so we ended up going for a walk to get some peace and quiet. The wedding venue was lovely and the waiting staff were great, the food was served hot and quickly. The toilet in the gents was not fixed to the floor and moved about when being used. We couldn't open any windows in the room and it was boiling hot. On a good note, the location was good and the hotel has free parking. I would not recommend this hotel whilst premier inn are close by and cheaper, we don't think we would stay here again, marks out of 10, we would say 6.

I stayed in this hotel on business: it is very basic. They proudly ammounce that its been in the family for 75 years but in my view they would benefit from a complete make over. The service was poor: I had to drag someone away from reception (who was doing nothng) to get a drink at the bar ((10 feet away) and then they didn't have any glasses!!! The room was like walking back in t the 1970's with nylon everywhere. Whilst the sheets were clean I am not sure anything else was. The room had secondary double glazing to try to reduce the noise, but it was broken and did not work.
Breakfast was basic but what you would expect: I had scambled eggs but there was more water on the plate than egg. The coffee was stued and the juice was concentrate heavily watered down. Not somewhere I will stay again

Room Tip: Don't get a room facing the road, the noise is unbearable.

We booked this hotel for a business trip, and had a great experience!
The hotel has clearly gone through a recent rennovation, and all of our rooms were clean, modern and looked after. Linen was clean and white, beds comfy, and extra pillows provided as standard.
The hairdryer in my room wasn't working but they had already provided a replacement plug-in so no stresses!

Staff were great - we stayed out late one night and they have a 24hr manned reception which was excellent - they even opened up the bar late. Bar and reception area was beautifully decked out with comfy low leather sofas and intricate wallpaper. Really lovely!
We also missed breakfast and the staff provided us with bacon sarnies and pots of tea and coffee so we didn't have to leave the hotel to get food.

We enjoyed our meal in the new refurbished restuarant with our friends. The service was very good and the staff were very helpful and friendly . The area is very good for parking, no problems. Good choice of Starters, Mains and Desserts and good value for money. I would recommend The Regent Hotel for Sunday Lunch and Evening Meal. We will be returning.
