“Beautiful Restaurant”
Reviewed 21 June 2014

I came to the restaurant for my birthday with friends. We loved our time here and for sure, we will come back soon.
The service was efficient and quick. Food tasted beautiful - it was cooked to a high standard with nice combination of flavours. It was also presented very well on the plate! We had the chicken supreme, chicken Kiev, baked cod, chicken caesar salad and pork.
The waiter was friendly and made some nice cocktails.
Finally, the restaurant provides a relaxed atmosphere assisted with the nice background music and helpful staff.
I would definitely recommend the Regent hotel restaurant to anybody who likes good food and good value.
The best restaurant in Doncaster !!

Booked the hotel through trip advisor which to be honest was the only problem I encountered as we did not receive a confirmation email which meant I had to call the hotel to check on the booking. Nice friendly welcome on arrival by the receptionist, easy check in, room was large and spacious with an excellent bed and facilities. We arrived late back after seeing a show and the night porter was very helpful and extremely friendly, we stayed up until the early hours at the bar. A decent nights sleep was had although we must have slept through the wake up call we booked but we didn't miss breakfast. There was a good choice of breakfast dishes and we settled on the full English .. Again very nice, not the best I've ever had but def not the the worst. We paid £75 for the night for two including breakfast which I thought was a bargain. Would def recommend this hotel as the place to stay in Doncaster. Plenty of on road parking over looking the park or in the car park at the rear of the hotel. Five stars from me.

Nice family run hotel, good location for walking to resturants, theatre etc, booked a family room for 2 adults 1 small child which had two double beds in a large room, but at £80.00 with breakfast I felt was a little steep as the room it's self felt tired & no better decor than a good travel lodge/prem inn. Carpets badly stained looked dirty. There was a large group of us & we all had the same option.
Would I stay again, only if the hotel offered a cheaper rate,

We stayed at this hotel for a friends wedding this weekend. By chance it was the 3rd wedding in 4 weeks across the country. For organisation and food it was by far the best of the three but by no means the most expensive.
The staff were all completely charming and helpful in the extreme at the Regent.
The food was all cooked in house and was delicious, but the most impressive aspect was the speed of service and how hot the food was when it came to table.
I would advise anyone thinking of having a civil wedding in Doncaster to give this hotel a call.

Room Tip: Some rooms are not accessible by lift. The room was large and comfortable with a large bed but the w...

We were looking for a central hotel and the Regent was recommended to us. Very good central location and at £65 for the two of us for bed and breakfast, looked very good value. We arrived at about 17.00 and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Great that they have a lift. We had a couple of drinks befor going to the room (hotel prices) in the small bar area, which was very relaxing. Not sure what this would be like if the hotel was busy though. The room was adequate, but fairly small. In terms of an evening meal, the menu looked ok, but we wanted Italian so we ate at the Opera (see seperate review) Bathroom wasn't up to much and was cold in the morning. Breakfast was excellent. Would we stay there again - yes at that price.

This hotel had good location and it a few minutes walk to the town centre.
Have a very small car park at the back.
Our room was by the front window.
We stayed one night.
The room is good size and had subtitled Television. But the heater was not on. So it was chilly at night.
The bath water was warm, about to run out of hot water at midnight Still warm enough to have a bath.
All the floors were creaking every steps you take it CREAK CREAK.
After all it an old hotel but it not a problem.
Bed comfort was lovely and sheet excellent quality. Towel very clean.
Nice tea and coffee with kettle.
Breakfast nice but cooked breakfast was rather greasy. Could see oil on the plate.
Could do with a healthier breakfast. Overall it a lovely hotel with bar and restaurant and won few awards in the past years.
The price is not cheap compare to other hotel. It a family run hotel for 75 years, Lovely hotel.
