This is a great place to take visitors to Doncaster, as the museum has all sorts of interesting memorabilia. The grounds are also very nice and offer good views over Doncaster.

Didnt go in the house or the cafe but just had a wander, a nice location for a quick wander outside Doncaster, nice looping tarmac paths (beware there are hills) in well maintained grounds. You do have to pay for parking for but for a council run place thats quite cheap.

I can only endorse what the writers before me said. We staid three hours and felt £ 2.20 for parking is ok. We liked walking the dogs in the park and felt that the displays in the house are very interesting.
The only thing I was missing is that there is no information regarding dogs on the official website. This is a pity as the place is very dog friendly. You can even take it into parts of the coffee place.

Great place to visit at any time of year whether it's to go and have a look inside, chill on the grass in the summer or sleigh down the hill in the winter ;-)

Firstly the parking fees. £1.50 for two hours! Incredible value! Excellent meal in the Bistro. Quiche, salad and amazing New Potatoes. Lemon slice. Large pot of tea and one of the waiters offered to get us a top up pot of hot water! The museum was certainly interesting though a bit cold. Reminded me very much of a National Trust with free entry again a welcome surprise. Will certainly visit again tho next time on a nice summers day and walk down to the lake. Recommended.
