Decided to try out the highly rated breakfast.
On arrival, the initial impression was good, clean well set out for meals.
Staff nice and friendly.
Once sat down, i realised how cold it was, no heating on at all, radiators were cold.
Ordered 2 breakfasts. They did take a while to come out but did not mind as this meant they were being cooked fresh.
When the food came, it was well presented, i do prefer beans in a separate ramikin, but i understand not all places do this.
Beans were luke warm and hard, definitely not heinz. Everything else was hot. But with the place being so cold the food went cold very quickly.
Mushrooms, big disappointment, they were tinned.
I understand prices are rising, but surely a bit of warmth for customer comfort is not much to expect .

The best breakfast we have had for ages.
2x large breakfasts at 9.45am.
The sausages were amazing and the bacon was perfect as were the eggs,
I would have liked the tea and coffee in mugs as we had finished before it had been served with no offer of refills.
Would definitely go again!

We booked here as we were we helping our son and his girlfriend with the move into their new home nearby.

First impression wasn’t great, seemed like a locals bar. Enquired about times for breakfast in the morning (Sunday) to be told they didn’t do breakfast on a Sunday (we’d booked bed and breakfast).

Room was ok-ish - very hot with a radiator that you couldn’t turn down, furniture rickety and had to coax the kettle to get up a decent heat for a cup of tea. Bathroom door didn’t shut.

Could live with all that - but then a dog started barking - incessantly. Wasn’t sure if it was outside or in the room next door. We didn’t think too much of it - went out to a local restaurant for dinner, returning about 9.30/10 pm. That’s when we discovered the walls were paper thin - not sure who was in the room next to us, but they screeched for about half an hour then left the room. Then the dog started again - loudly. It was obviously in the room next door and was clearly distressed at being left alone. It did not stop.

By 10.30 that night, I’d managed to find a room at one of the major chains - so we packed our bags and left. Staff didn’t seem in the slightest bit surprised, were very apologetic and handed us a full refund.

Definitely won’t be booking again. Can only presume they paid someone to leave the review of ‘best hotel in the world’. Believe me - it’s very far from that

I think this is the best Hotel in the world, ive been to loads of Hotels and this ones best, It's miles better than the Travel Lodge, miles better than the Hilton (I found that the staff at the Hilton by the races in Doncaster are a bit shifty) It's better than the Premier Inn, Better than the Regent and the Crown Hotel in Bawtry can't compeat the the food and service of this hidden doncaster gem...It's simply the best Hotel in the World!
