Treat for my daughter's 21st, some mother /daughter bonding and pampering. The hotel is wonderful, a lovely georgian building sympathetically modernised. The rooms had every comfort while retaining the personality of the old building. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely staff. Excellent meal at the restaurant and good breakfast (in a deal). Amazingly comfortable beds!

Stunning gardens where there is a cafe/ restaurant.

Spa: the spa package was only for 2 hours, which I hadn't spotted in the small print, which was just as well as there isn;t much to do; a lovely pool with jets, and a steam room, but that was it. However the treatments were out of this world, in the Moroccan styled area; I have never had such a good massage and also a wonderful facial. I fancied pushing the boat out for the rose petal envelopment treamtent but it needs advance booking.

Highly recommended!

Dear Earlybird27,

The Spa team are delighted to hear how much you enjoyed your treatments and your whole experience. Now you have a very plausible excuse to return for that Rose Petal treatment - we are positive you would find that alone worth a return trip!

I am pleased too that the staff in the hotel looked after you from start to finish and as you say nothing is too much trouble for us.

We are indeed blessed with a wonderful Georgian building and stunning grounds in the beautifully atmospheric and friendly village of Chipping Campden.

All the more reason to see you again soon!

Kind regards,

Michael and Team.

We were treated to a night at this lovely hotel and we had a wonderful time. The service was excellent, the room was clean, comfy and spacious. The air conditioning was very welcome and meant we had a fantastic nights sleep. We had dinner in the grill, which was delicious and the breakfast was faultless. My husband used the pool at the spa and loved it. Thank you to all the staff for your attentive service. My only regret....having read the other reviews, I just wish we had been upgraded to the room with a hot tub. That would have been heavenly!

Overall, our experience of Cotswold House was really positive. We stayed in a Suite. Here are our thoughts:

Pros:
- Great location in gorgeous Chipping Campden. Right on the High Street.
- We had dinner at the Noel Arms (the sister "hotel"/pub right across the road) where the curry is amazing.
- Beautiful and peaceful gardens with lots of seating.
- Amazing bathroom in the suite with a huge egg-shaped bath.
- Comfortable king-size bed.
- Tasty, quiet breakfast with lots of options.
- The spa was a pleasant experience.
- Sheep baa-ing in the nearby field.
- Hotel car park.

Cons:
- We both felt the suite was small for the price. This was especially felt in the bedroom where you had to squeeze round the bed!
- The room was rather dark.
- The outside terrace was a bit dingy.
- Two of the ceiling spotlights in the room weren't working. The feature lights above the bath in the bathroom weren't working. We noticed that a few lights around the property in general were in a similar state.
- On the morning we were due to check out, WATER from the room above ours came pouring through one of the lights in the bathroom ceiling (then we realised why it hadn't been working!). Our clothes in the adjacent wardrobe also got wet. We caught the leak, phoned reception to let them know what was happening, and then cleared up all the water. No one came to check on the state of the room or to apologise to us. All we got was a "sorry about that" when we checked out, which was really disappointing.
- After this happened, we realised that the generously sized damp patch in the ceiling, the broken light and the water damaged wardrobe (which was difficult to closed and was warped) was due to this leak happening before. Not at all impressive in a £350 a night room.
- The spa pool was dirty, with clogged bits of hair in the corners.

In all, this hotel is lovely and we had a really pleasant stay. However, it doesn't seem to offer very good value for money, certainly not if you're considering a suite. Lots of things around the hotel are generally a bit tired and could do with a bit of pepping up.

We booked 2 nights in this charming room. It was spacious and comfortable. It had a comfortable bed and great bathroom. The food was amazing! The staff very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staing in the area. Loved it here....

Room Tip: Parking is in the back of hotel and a bit strange but not uncommon for the area. Great walks, takes...

We wanted to go back to this hotel as on our first visit the experience was not the best. We had a room above where a band was playing.
The an agreement tried there bet to sort it out on the night were unable. We were offered a complimentary night bed and breakfast and we gladly took up this offer.

This time we had the most fantastic time and we were give a room that outstripped our expectations. The staff at the hotel went out of there way to ensure we had a great room. The food and drink were just first class and we were very well looked after. In fact there was a new member of staff who had been at the hotel for 3 days and she showed us to our room taking time to ensure that we were comfortable and ensured we knew where everything was.
A great start to what must be a promising career at the Hotel.
All the staff were very friendly this is a hotel we will defiantly be owing back to again.
The Spa had a little hiccup ASAP member of the team called in sick and this held up our treatments for 45 minutes. Also we were asked to leave the pool a there was concern about he quality of the water.
The treatments were great though.

Room Tip: Try and have a room with an outside hot tub, amazing.

booked two nights stay just to have a relaxing time in the Cotswolds. Couldn't fault the check in procedure and the interest shown in us. Room 11 is large and lovely, with large oval bath and steam shower. The bathroom is a little tired and one set of invigorating water jets wasnt working properly, but that said the room was spacious and very comfortable, nice touch to have a corkscrew and wine glasses in the room and a fridge large enough for a bottle of wine.
We ate in the cotswold grill and the service and the food were excellent. Breakfast both days was very good with good attention from the staff.
We ate on our last night in the restaurant of the Noel Arms, the sister hotel immediately across the road and again the food and service were excellent.
In particular Kim was an excellent ambassador for the hotel, interested in the guests and very knowledgeable about the area.

After staying at the Cotswold House Hotel a couple of weeks ago I thought I had better write my review but after reading the last 5 reviews I can only add what has already been said. The dining room food was lovely but pricey, the head waiter a bit cold and unfriendly but the other staff friendly, the room nice but missing some touches you would expect in a hotel in this price bracket, the shower was poor, the spa was good, the garden beautiful but needs a bit of gardening doing, the extra service charges annoying and leave a bad taste .....overall a 3* experience and only worth it if you get a past minute or groupon deal ... Not worth paying the full price otherwise you'll be disappointed.
