This was our 2nd visit to the wonderful chipping campden. The first time we stayed at the sister hotel, the Noel Arms, and that was a great place. This time round we thought we'd splash out and stay at the 'palace'. Our 20 month old daughter came too. We found a great deal on the hotel website for a king deluxe room but when we arrived our holiday experience was transported into a different league as we were upgraded free of charge to a junior suite (room 17)!!!!!! The suite was awesome, a complimentary bar, fireplace, wicked entertainment system, plenty of space for a travel cot and most importantly a truly wonderful bathroom. Our daughter just loved the massive bath and the funky mood lighting features. Hotel breakfast was delicious as was an evening meal we had in Hicks brasserie. We will return soon but on a romantic getaway leaving our little one with granny!!! Simply put - an outstanding hotel.

What a wonderful place the Cotswold House is, from when we arrived the staff were most helpful, we were taken to our room and shown round and told the mini bar was complementary, which stocked a small bottle of white and red wine, a bottle of becks, 2 bottles of coke, 2 bottles of juice, a large bottle of water, milk, chocolate and nuts. This is something more hotels should do. The bath was amazing a large oval limestone bath and was a dream to bathe in. We dined in the brasserie the fist night and he food was lovely, we did find the drinks a little pricey so found a lovely pub in the village were the locals were very friendly. When we returned to our room the bed had been turned down. Breakfast in the morning was delicious especially the museli soaked in milk and yoghurt with berries and the eggs benedict. The 2nd night we dined in the Noel Arms opposite the Cotswold House and was disapointed by the food, my husband had the potato and leek soup with a twist and the twist was squirty cream! not exaclty what you expect.
The time we spent at Cotswold House was so relaxing and quite the gardens were beautiful and we will definatly returning.

A lovely old manor house remodeled to include up to date features like flat screen TV's, modern bathrooms and terrific staff. Simple medievil village with friendly residents and quaint shops. Surrounded by the Cotswolds with rich English countryside views.

My Husband and I have just stayed at this hotel for one night for our wedding anniversary and had an amazing time. We booked a junior suite (room 17) which was a large room overlooking the peaceful gardens of the hotel. The bathroom was amazing; bath tub made for two, plasma tv, huge power shower, underfloor heating amazing mood lighting. The suite itself was large and had a huge leather sofa and a small dining area. Breakfast is definitely worth a mention as it consists of three courses! Lots of choice and we did not need lunch that day! Service on every level was amazingly quick - could not falter it. We ate in Hicks Brasserie which is in the hotel and had a great meal - very informal dress code and the staff were so attentive and friendly. We actually returned the next day for lunch and the staff remembered us and our dietary requirements. The village itself is simply stunning - this is a very charming yet contemporary hotel - it's not cheap but you definitely get what you pay for.

Having checked out all the info online i had high expectations of this hotel. I had booked a junior suite but i couldn't pick which one as i would have liked but i definately wasn't disappointed. We had room 15 which was fantastic with it's open fire place and freestanding bath. The views over the cotswolds and formal gardens were lovely. As we were there for 2 nights we ate in both the bistro and Juliana's. Neither disappointed. The food was outstanding but what really made our stay superb was the staff. They were attentive but not overbearing. They were always friendly and helpful. We would definately go back. We would highly recommend for a special break away.

We stayed in the Hidcote Cottage which was lovely. The room had a working (gas) fire which added cosiness and a private garden area with a hot tub as well as a large shower and a bath with a TV in the wall (which we didn't manage to figure out how to work unfortunately)
Cotswold House Hotel is very romantic, very quiet, once in our room, we felt like we were in our own romantic appartment, tucked away from the world. We had a lovely breakfast in the room with the fire on, all cosied up in armchairs.
The gardens around the hotel are lovely and the town of Champden Chipping is very old charm English.
We took our cat, which the hotel were fine about, dogs are allowed also.
We ate in the Brasserie which did nice food, the main restaurant was not open on the night we stayed (Monday).

We booked a last minute overnight at Cotswold House, following a ring round of a few good places in the area on a saturday morning to see what deals were available. We plumped for Cotswold House as we managed to negotiate a less than 1/2 price deal on a delux double!

The place is lovely, chic boutique - modern but opulent. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.

The food was of a good standard - we ate in Julianas on Saturday and it was reasonably busy. However we were disappointed by the extortionate prices for the drinks; wine and champagne were both overpriced in our opinion - almost more expensive by the glass, than Le Manoir Aux Quat Saisons, where we had eaten a couple of weeks earlier.

The room was small for the price (even though we had paid less than half the normal tariff ). It had electric blinds in the bathroom, a large bath and tv in there too. Nice adjustable mood lighting, though this proved a challenge to get the right light on where needed. The wardrode looked very swish but the doors were tricky and the rail so high we struggled to reach it!

The biggest criticism was the standard of housekeeping in the bedroom! The room must always be vacuumed with the door open, as when it was closed, the carpet had a large dusty area behind the door. The bathroom was dusty and shelving and drawers needed a bit of Mr Sheen too! If you're going to do modern and chic its got to be spotless and unfortuately it wasn't. The bedroom felt quite cramped too, as the hotel have squashed in a glass table (with a very loose top!) and a large modern chair, which you have to keep moving in order to get to the wardrobe. The bed had an unusual mattress - constructed out of something which looked like lego - it was supposed to be so comfortable that we would definately need an alarm call - I beg to differ!

Overall we had a pleasant enough stay, but we would have been very very disappointed had we paid full price - it really is not worth it. We just felt sorry for all the other people who probaly paid more than us!
