Not one garden but a series of them, with different planting schemes and themes. There are so many little moments of joy and delight as you turn a corner that it's impossible to name them all, I recommend just wandering around and following paths as they take your fancy

Really great garden and tea room. Well worth a half day visit. Was there in mid-May, with rhododendrons, roses, iris, and lots of other neat things in bloom. The tea room serves nice lunches.

We were fortunate in that our visit coincided with a lovely day. Thus we were able to enjoy most of what the gardens have to offer in glorious sunshine. We meandered all over, just following our noses from one attractive area to the next. I feel sure that if we lived nearby we would be regular visitors to such a lovely environment.

I'm not a gardener but my mother is, she can talk at length about the plants and give both common and Latin names for many. She points out many special varieties which can be found in her garden. She loves Hidcote. However for a non-gardener like myself it's also the perfect place to wander, enjoy the little paths and 'garden rooms'. The shop and plant shop are nice places to round off the visit. I'd highly recommend you visit.

This is not a garden to visit once a year. To truly appreciate it you need to visit every 3-4 weeks as it changes so much with the great variety of plants as they come into season. Allow plenty of time for your visit as it's a large garden and deserves to be fully savoured. On our many visits we have chatted to people of just about every nationality which is always a pleasure. The staff are lovely, always so friendly and willing to spend time talking about the garden. Don't miss the fabulous home made cakes in the cafe ! Wear suitable footwear as some of the paths are rather uneven. One great thing about Hidcote is that from May to end August it stays open until 7.00 p.m. By this time the garden gets quieter and the light changes, making it a perfect time to take photos. Just fabulous.
