“A-MA-ZING! Beat my recent stays at several Four Seasons and Mandarin Oriental properties”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 February 2014

This review is long overdue as I had thought for some reason that I had already submitted it. We stayed with Angie late last summer. She was great to deal with from the start. She was on top of it on emails, and when on the phone. I was amazed when she didn't need a deposit to book the stay. I also asked her for information for a transfer from the station, and she offered to come get us and take us back. This was extremely nice of her and likely saved us about 40 pounds each way. It really was like dealing with a friend or a high end concierge, and you felt at home from the start. I was concerned about a room needing several stairs to get to due to my mom's health issues, and angie even walked the stairs to count them for me! We had the room on the top floor which is ideal as it had a little futon couch AND two beds, so was great to have a little separate area as you can see from the pics on their website. Angie was also so gracious with making sure all our needs were met for breakfast and even went into town to ensure that my mom had kippers the next morning. She was a little stressed during our stay as a reviewer from a well known US travel company whose owner/namesake appears often on public TV was also staying there. I thought it unfair that those writers let their identities be known, and they appeared to be relishing the power they held when we ran into them. It made me think less of the travel guide company, and all the programs I saw on TV when I realized that they don't review properties anonymously.

The property is lovely, and well within a walk of the town. The breakfast is your usual english, and Angie makes an effort to cater to you within reason. The home baked cookies/biscuits are superb, and she leaves a little jar of them in the room. We had one small plumbing issue during our stay, but nothing major at all. The pictures show the view from the skylight in our room - the clear air and the views of the english countryside were just amazing. This is a great property, but the fact that you feel at home, and Angie makes it feel like you are staying with a close friend makes it one of the best options you could get in the Cotswolds. There is also room for parking a car if needed. The only downside to it being far away from a station but that is not an issue since Angie might be able to help out. One warning is that when we were dropped off, we found out our train had been cancelled (great western is not that great!), so we were stuck for a while as the station is also un-staffed on Sunday, until we organized a cab to take us to oxford. This was a bit stressful, but none of this was under the control of Cherry Trees, just a factor to consider if you are taking a train and being dropped off.

Room Tip: The only one we saw was at the very top, but would be ideal for a parent with two kids, or a couple...

We stayed here whilst visiting family and couldnt have asked for better. The room was spacious and spotless with everything you could need. Breakfast and hosting was also faultless. Good location and will definitely use again.

Stayed in September 2012 as part of our Great Cotswold Tour. Stayed in room at top of house with great views. Good breakfast,. Welcoming owner. Slightly out of "town" and more peaceful for it. A more "modern" take on Cotswold style. Didn't seem to take credit cards - which caused a trip to the ATM, but forewarned is forearmed. All in all a good value choice.

While traveling in the Cotswalds, aside from the natural scenery and history, the real highlight of our time there was staying three lovely nights at Cherry Tree, and starting our day with a chat with Angie over tea and her delicious home-cooked breakfast. Angie and her family were gracious hosts from the start. From staying up late in the evening to welcome us, to providing advice on where to visit and eat, to the comfortable accommodations, I would highly recommend Cherry Tree.

We were meeting up with some great friends and they booked the Cherry Tree's. And what a great place to stay, we had a wonderful welcome and it was i was going to say home from home, but better. Big bedroom and a great big bath room with jacuzzi bath every part of the house spotless.
Breakfast was yummy as well. Thank you Angie hope to see you again soon xx

We have just returned from our second visit to Cherry Trees in Chipping Campden. Angie, our hostess, made us feel so very welcome, as did the rest of her family. The accommodation is far superior than that which you would expect from a B&B, and the breakfast is second to none. Angie could not do enough for us; she even greeted our arrival with a birthday cake for my husband. She cannot do enough for you, and her attention to detail is second to none. This is our second stay with other friends, who also thoroughly enjoyed it. The quality of the room and bathroom is as good as you would get in any four/five star hotel. We so much look forward to visiting the Cotswolds again, and would have no hesitation in recommending Cherry Trees for your stay. In fact we have already recommended Cherry Trees to two further sets of friends since we have been home. My only fear is that we won't be able to get in next time, as she will be fully booked.

My friends and I booked into Cherry Trees not knowing what it was like. After a little difficulty finding the house in the dark we were greeted by a lovely lady Angie who helped us in with our luggage and made sure we were comfortable for the night. The rooms we were given were lovely and clean, the bed I slept in was amazingly comfortable and we had a very luxurious wet room ensuite!! Tea and coffee in room and home made shortbread biscuits and fresh milk on request. Breakfasts both days were superb, generous and freshly cooked. Being here was like staying with a friend it was so lovely. My only grouch was the coffee machine took pods and I prefer fresh coffee. A minor issue. I would recommend this place to anyone, and hope one day to return.
