This review is long overdue as I had thought for some reason that I had already submitted it. We stayed with Angie late last summer. She was great to deal with from the start. She was on top of it on emails, and when on the phone. I was amazed when she didn't need a deposit to book the stay. I also asked her for information for a transfer from the station, and she offered to come get us and take us back. This was extremely nice of her and likely saved us about 40 pounds each way. It really was like dealing with a friend or a high end concierge, and you felt at home from the start. I was concerned about a room needing several stairs to get to due to my mom's health issues, and angie even walked the stairs to count them for me! We had the room on the top floor which is ideal as it had a little futon couch AND two beds, so was great to have a little separate area as you can see from the pics on their website. Angie was also so gracious with making sure all our needs were met for breakfast and even went into town to ensure that my mom had kippers the next morning. She was a little stressed during our stay as a reviewer from a well known US travel company whose owner/namesake appears often on public TV was also staying there. I thought it unfair that those writers let their identities be known, and they appeared to be relishing the power they held when we ran into them. It made me think less of the travel guide company, and all the programs I saw on TV when I realized that they don't review properties anonymously.
The property is lovely, and well within a walk of the town. The breakfast is your usual english, and Angie makes an effort to cater to you within reason. The home baked cookies/biscuits are superb, and she leaves a little jar of them in the room. We had one small plumbing issue during our stay, but nothing major at all. The pictures show the view from the skylight in our room - the clear air and the views of the english countryside were just amazing. This is a great property, but the fact that you feel at home, and Angie makes it feel like you are staying with a close friend makes it one of the best options you could get in the Cotswolds. There is also room for parking a car if needed. The only downside to it being far away from a station but that is not an issue since Angie might be able to help out. One warning is that when we were dropped off, we found out our train had been cancelled (great western is not that great!), so we were stuck for a while as the station is also un-staffed on Sunday, until we organized a cab to take us to oxford. This was a bit stressful, but none of this was under the control of Cherry Trees, just a factor to consider if you are taking a train and being dropped off.
