Tythe Barn cottage is a beautiful place to stay in and relax. The owners are very friendly and helpful. In this cottage you will find everything you need. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

“Wonderful Quaint Little Cottage”

My husband and 2 boys (aged 12 and 9) had a wonderful stay at this quaint little cottage in the picturesque village of Ebrington. The weather could not have been kinder to us to allow us to explore many other picturesque towns and villages in the area. We especially loved Bibury, Broadway, Lower Slaughter, Bourton-on-the-Water, Castle Combe, Stratford-Upon-Avon and of course Chipping Campden. All of these places are easily accessible by car. We had a wonderful cream tea at Badgers Hall tea room in Chipping and the Ebrington Arms is worth a try. Would love to experience a Christmas here one day. The welcome basket was much appreciated upon arrival.

“More than we expected; in one word: fantastic!”

We are a family with two children of 8 and 12 years old and all of us enjoys staying here a lot. It has already happened three times that the children don't want to go anywhere but simply want to stay and enjoy being in these cosy rooms. We are in England for the first time and are astonished about the high rate of comfort waiting for us in this cottage. We became a basket filled with beer, wine, lemonade, cookies, crisps and in the fridge we found more lemonade and milk. We have never ever got such a warm welcome before! The rooms are furnished with much eye for details. The kitchen was more than full equiped. I could have cooked and baked all day. In the bathroom we found many towls and two rolls of toilet paper. Istarted to think I had booked a hotel. We haven't ever had a holiday in a cottage that was so luxurious before. (we compaire it with Dutch, German and Belgian cottages). Thank you very much Sue and Geoff!!

“Really didn't want to leave”
Reviewed 8 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

Tythe Barn was perfect, tastefully decorated, clean and polished and just beautifully appointed.

We have just come back from a week of relaxation there and its safe to see we loved it.

I'm 6ft tall and the ceiling height was fine as was upstairs.

The fire was gorgeous and made the evenings truly magical in this beautiful old thatched cottage.

Location wise it could not be any better, a couple of miles from Hidcote Gardens, just a few miles from Campden and Broadway a couple miles further.

Dear oh dear, leaving was so hard after what can only be described as home from home.

Thanks Sue for sharing your beautiful cottage, its lovely furniture and objects.

Love Bright and Wendy.

“A new experience”
Reviewed 15 May 2013 for a stay in May 2013

This very old thatched roof cottage is centrally located in the northern Cotswolds and is a great base to visit the surrounding district. Sadly the heating hadn't been switched on when we arrived so we were bloody cold the first night. As an old pyromaniac, even I couldn't get the log fire to stay alight. Apart from that the cottage is a great place for couples to spend a few romantic days pretending to be young again. Our hosts only took a bank transfer for payment which added another $30 Australian dollars to the cost, plus we were asked for an extra £15 to cover any costs that the owners may incur. As far as my paperwork shows, there weren't any "costs incurred" and we didn't get our 15 quid refunded..
On the plus side, there was a nice welcoming pack of wine, beer and biscuits and on the down side there were no tissues, stand up shower or dishwasher and the Wi Fi is a bit hit and miss.

Management Response
19 May 2013
Thank you for the review - it's always good to hear what our guests think of their stay at the cottage.
We're really sorry that our guests were cold on their first night and can only apologise again about the lack of heating. Unfortunately, before leaving, the previous guests had turned it off and we hadn't noticed.
With regard to the expected refund: Guests paying from overseas are asked to include £12 in their payment to cover any unexpected bank charges. On receipt of payment they are sent a receipt and a copy of the bank credit transaction which shows any charges incurred. In this case, there was a charge so no refund was due.
The descriptions of the kitchen and bathroom on the website are accurate and don't include a dishwasher and stand-up shower.
We know the mobile reception in the Cotswolds can be a bit variable but the Wi-Fi is on a landline so shouldn't be a problem - we will check it out.

“Highly recommend * good location * very close to Chipping Campden”

Highly recommend. This Coteswold thatched roof cottage, located in Ebrington, is clean, comfortable, cozy and centrally located. Ebrington is only a few miles from Chipping Campden. The popular Ebrington Arms Pub is a one-block walk.

The cottage has a large living-dinning room, with a large open fireplace at one end. The kitchen is well furnished, and I add that the owners, Sue and Geoff Turner, supplied our arrival with welcoming wine, beer, bread and milk. The upstairs has two bedrooms, one a pass-through to the bathroom.

The cottage does not have on-site parking, however street parking is within a hundred feet and was not a problem, even though the elementary school shared the street.

The cottage has a pleasant small garden/lawn.

NOTE: The owners do not accept credit card deposits.

This is a must for anyone wanting to experience the Cotswolds. This thatched cottage in the tiny village of Ebrington is magical. The 2 story home is spotlessly clean with all the modern comforts provided, including a washer/dryer. The owners are lovely and leave a delicious gift basket for you to enjoy. The large fireplace offers heat and atmosphere, and there is plenty of wood available. We were there only 3 nights but would have loved to have stayed longer.
