“Great find in a wonderful town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 December 2013 via mobile

I felt compelled to write this short review - a wonderful little place I came across on my visit to chipping Campden today, after reading the review before mine i felt we were in a different place altogether? The food was delicious, I had sweet potato & cumin soup, the best I've ever had, a very good cappuccino followed by a warm mince pie & whipped cream, the bill was very reasonable & the quality of service and the food was well worth a mention on here, the owner & the lady who served were very polite and I did compliment the person who had made the soup. The smell from the kitchen was divine today as all the food is made on site, so im told. I did visit the ladies room, a cute little building outside and it was clean and didn't have a broken toilet seat? I will definitely be back in the spring.

“Soup of the Day: not fit for purpose”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 November 2013

We went for the Soup of the Day, described as 'Vegetable soup', which became spicier with every spoonful; so much so that we had barely consumed a quarter of our bowls and we couldn't face any more. It was not a matter of taste, this soup had copious amounts of cayenne pepper or equivalent and should have been sold as '(Very) Spicy Vegetable', which would appeal to many punters. However, it was just too much for us even though we enjoy certain spicy foods.

Had the manager readily admitted his mistake we would have warmed to him but no he operated a weird cat-and-mouse game of 'guessing' what possible ingredient could make it seem spicy (as if we were delusional). He offered my wife a paltry £1 off the bill. I should have stepped in and given him a hard time but it could have ruined a nice day and so I decided to write this review instead to warn others.

A visit to the toilet and the clearly long-forgotten broken loo seat was a further indication of the slap-dash way this place is run.

“Chocolate cake heaven !!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 October 2013

We arrived in the Pantry just as the freshly made chocolate cake was being delivered. My wife felt that it was her duty to sample the 1st slice. Within minutes the cake was gone and washed down with a lovely cup of coffee. The lady that served us was very pleasant and has been mentioned previously everything was very reasonably priced.

“Tasty sandwich and pleasant service.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 October 2013 via mobile

We stopped by at an unusual hour because we missed lunch and didn't want to wait for an evening meal someplace. The panini special was quite good as was the ham and cheese panini. The bread pudding and lemon drip cake were also quite good.

“Traditional English Tea Room”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 October 2013

A "well worth a visit" experience. Traditional English light bites or afternoon tea. Lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. Totally unhurried and quality food. Don't miss it!
