“Excellent accommodation in a delightful location”
Reviewed 1 October 2012 for a stay in October 2012

Very comfortable. Owners were readily available and helpful. Home made bread, cookies, jams and beautiful flowers were provided on arrival. Very quiet location close to a beautiful small Cotswolds village with easy access to walking trails.

Liked best: If we had a cottage in the Cotswolds, we'd want it to be like this one. We felt right at home there.
Liked least: The shower was not up to the standard of the rest of the house

“Top notch lodging and wonderful hosts!”
Reviewed 4 September 2012 for a stay in June 2012

We were fortunate to stay here for 3 weeks in June 2012. Cottage is charming, beautifully furnished, spotless and has everything you need. Beds are comfy, towels are thick and fluffy, downstairs there is an "American" style shower and upstairs there is a bathtub perfect for a long soak. Kitchen is spacious and well equipped. Backyard is serene, a lovely spot for morning tea. Felicity is a gracious and extremely helpful host, providing not only maps and tour books galore, but also homemade jam and goodies, flowers and produce from her garden and spot-on advice for things to do in the area. The village of Ilmington though small is lovely as are the villages nearby. We've rented houses in Europe, US and Caribbean, and this was one of the best!

“Lovely cottage, extremely sad to leave - miss it a lot.”
Reviewed 22 August 2012 for a stay in April 2012

I'll try to keep this review brief. We stayed at Sansome House Cottage for one week in August, travelling with my husband and two daughters (7 & 9). The cottage itself is so lovely and quintessentially English country - I never realised places like this still existed so it was so exciting to enter and explore all the lovely rooms which smelt so gorgeous and the sweet smelling garden with its abundance of flowers and shrubs with welcoming table and chairs. Felicity, the owner had left fresh flowers, bread and jam together with a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge. This was a lovely welcome after our long 5 hour journey and it didn't take long for us to 'tuck in'.

Ilmington itself is a lovely village and the people we encountered along our evening strolls were incredibly friendly, chatting to the children - handing out bread to feed animals etc.

We visited both pubs, both of which are very different but both of which had their own charm.

The cottage and village is so different from what we are used to so it was such a lovely change and we really felt as though we were in a different world. Unfortunately we were only there for a week and having two children who liked to be out doing things took its toll and we never did manage to de-stress! We have booked again for next April and this time we will take things much easier.

“Immediately felt like a local.”
Reviewed 17 June 2012 for a stay in May 2012

The cottage is lovely with its own private garden. The rooms are large and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. Felicity immediately makes you feel welcomed. Ilmington is centrally located for day trips to many well known tourist destinations. However if you want to take part in village life, you will find the town to be more than just a staging area. I attended the monthly movie night; saw and met Morris dancers traveling through the area; watched a rehearsal of the church bell ringers; and was blown away by the locally written and produced village play. Sansome Cottage is a wonderful place to stay.
