The Lygon Arms in chipping campden is a fantastic place. We held a reunion there and the staff could not do enough for any of us, the buffett they supplied was great. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Next time we are in the area we will definatley stay there again great friendly people.

We had two rooms here and both were great. The hotel is in the center of Chipping Campden so you are well located for walks and visiting local restaurants. The staff warmly greeted us in their pub and immediately escorted us to our rooms with happy smiles the whole time. This was probably one of the best breakfasts we were served on our entire trip to Great Britain. Having a Hotel with a pub and restaurant is a big plus even if you don't use all their services. The staff was very helpful the entire time. There is an excellent walk to nearby Broad Campden, take it. On the way home, the path crosses some of the charming sheep fields that make this area so charming.

Room Tip: Go for the third floor, but all of them are nice.

We haven't stayed in the hotel, but use the bar for lunch when visiting Chipping Campden with friends. Beware: the portions are large! Hot and tasty food well prepared and fresh and wholesome. My husband had a 'ploughman's' elsewhere yesterday - I said 'I bet you wish it was as good as the Lygon's'. The choice of premium quality cheeses and accompaniments makes it stand head and shoulders above other offerings. Good soups, excellent dishes such as tasty chilli and great chips. Real damage to the waistline, but worth dieting later!
Oh yes, great traditional cakes at tea-time, also!

Hotel is right on Chipping Campden High Street. Full of character. Room was a good size with plenty of storage and a large comfortable bed. Room had wooden beams. Pity they still use blankets on the bed. Bathroom was large with a very good over bath shower. Could be difficult to get in for anyone with difficulty lifting their leg. Nice bar. Staff were generally very friendly but didn't seem enough of them. Breakfast was very good but expensive if not taken as part of a B&B package. We would stay here again. Better than average but not excellent.

Room Tip: Get a double looking over the High Street.

I have been to the Lygon Arms sporadically over the years with my family and friends and it's never failed to deliver on the highest quality of bar food and a good pint! The service is still excellent, and always nice to see management floating about and chatting with the locals on regular occasions.
