“Chilling out in the Cotswolds”
Reviewed 15 September 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Booked Watery Park Barn for myself and a group of friends to celebrate a significant birthday. It is a lovely place. Well designed and equipped with space for everyone to be together or to have their own space. Everyone having their own bathroom meant no queues for showers in the mornings! As the weather was lovely we appreciated the outside tables on both sides of the barn so that we could sit in the sun or the shade at different times of the day. The large table in the house was ideal for seating lots of people though we ate outside a lot. Watery Park Barn is ideally situated for visiting nearby stately homes, villages and gardens without having to travel far. This was excellent as we were stayiing over the Bank Holiday weekend. The owners are very friendly and helpful both before the visit and whilst there.

“Disappointed with safety issues for a large, mature group”

The property looked lovely and appeared to meet all our requirements; however the staircase presented problems at the bottom resulting in two accidents. The second one was so severe they ended up in A&E with a broken ankle (no alcohol involved!). The bedrooms were small and the low sloping ceilings caused problems with guests repeatedly banging their heads. Understandably because this is a barn conversion, which had aimed to maximise the space, the structure has not been designed to have loads of head room, but it did cause difficulty using the bathrooms etc when you couldn't stand up straight without hitting a beam/ceiling. In addition the kitchen equipment wasn't really adequate for such a large adult group, even though the massive table implied you could! The patio outside was on two levels. The size of one catered for the tables and chairs but if you sat and pushed your chair back you met the other level and your chair toppled awkwardly! When enjoying the outside space you shouldn't have to keep looking down to make sure you don't trip/topple. The quirky-ness was certainly lovely but for a large party of mature guests we would have preferred practical over aesthetics any day.

“Birthday weekend away”

We booked the barn for a birthday weekend away with friends. The accommodation was perfect with plenty of space for all the guests, including 3 with four legs.

The main living, social space is large with kitchen, dinning and seating area. There are also two outside sitting areas which are perfect when the sun shines.

All of the bedrooms are furnished to a high standard with lots of ensuite bathrooms.

The local is quite and very relaxing. There is a local pub or a short walk to Chipping Campden ( a steep uphill start).

The owners where very welcoming and then left us to enjoy our time together.

I would highly recommend the property and would hire it again without hesitation.

“Wonderful 60th birthday weekend”

This was a perfect place for loads of family and two dogs to stay. Great amenities and a beautifully spacious and comfortable house with a huge eating area and the biggest table I have ever seen (and even that has extensions you can add!) Wood fire, table football, front and rear garden space added to the feel of the place. Very importantly the fixtures and furniture, although really comfortable, did not make you feel you had to tiptoe around the place frightened to break anything or worry about the dogs too much. Be careful not to overshoot the place in the dark we ended up half a mile up a track and across a field! Two minor plumbing issues were pointed out to the owner who was very charming.

“Perfect for a get together”
Reviewed 8 December 2014 for a stay in December 2014

we stayed here for a birthday party over a long weekend. The venue is well suited for a large group. It took a while to get the house warm but once warm it stayed warm. All the facilities are good quality and the owners coundlnt be more helpful when setting up and then left us to it which is good.

Would certainly like to return at some point.
