I used to go to the peking court many years ago when it was the only buffet restaruant in town and it was good nowadays Manchester has about 20 chinese buffets! We arrived on a Tuesday eveing at 8pm and although not really busy there was maybe 6 or seven tables occupied but alas hardly any food when some food did come out it was a scrum like being at a soup kitchen only you had to pay! I think they are suffering from the compititon and are holding back on providing a good choice of food to save money but this is leading to a downward spiral no food no customers maybe they should have some offers to entice people because the food when they have enough customers is very good but people want varitey and choice it's a shame to see Manchester first buffet struggle in short if you go at the weekend when the City is busy you will have a great meal if you go midweek you will find hardly any food the curse of the buffet restaraunt!

I have had the lunch buffet here many times over the years, but the food is not as good as it used to be.The selection has also changed. You used to get Duck and pancakes, but not any more.Instead there is Lamb which is full of fat and tough. The spare ribs have also gone.
For £7-00 you can't complain. As with all buffets,if you treat it as a quick meal instead of a take away then its fine.If you want fantastic food and entertainment, buffets are not for you.
The one thing that drives me mad in quite a few restaurants including this one,is they have the opening times outside,eg.12 00 mid day,but when you go in,they say the food will not be ready for 15 to 20 minutes!! Why have a sign saying open at 12 if they are not ready for business at 12.
There is an Indian buffet just down the road from this place which does the same every time.Open at 12,but again "sorry sir it will be 15 to 20 minutes before the food is ready"Why not start work early and make sure they are open on time. I have walked out of restaurants many times when this has happened.

We arrived about 9 pm and the place was nearly empty this should have alerted us but we had seen the website and thought it had lots of choice and food we liked however we were very quick to realise the restaurant is nothing like the website suggests there were only about 20 dishes to choose from and non of them were fresh there was barley a scaping of food in 5 of the dishes and looked dried up and unappetising i asked staff to replenish some of the dishes but was told as it was late in the evening 9 o'clock is hardly late , they couldn't do it the duck was nice nut no salad left to go with it and there was mo soup left or chicken curry the only choice for pudding was freezing cold banana fritters and ice cream they had the cheek to charge us the full amount laughable really would never go back there are much better restaurants to choose from

We went to the restaurant on a busy day in Manchester - the marathon was on, we arrived approx 40 mins after they had opened, we walked in and sat down and realised that there was only one other table in. We approached the buffet to find very little food, the waitress said that food would be coming out shortly.
The spring rolls and ribs were quite nice and there was plenty of aromatic duck, however the main courses were all a little tastless with little choice. The majority of the sauces that the food was in were very thin and watered down.
Dessert was a dry cake, melon or ice cream.
I would say I have eaten at far better buffet chinese restaurants before, and maybe it would be different if it was busier and more choice of food, but i guess we should have jsut walked out when we realised there was more staff than customers in!

However I could reccommend the thai pacific buffet just around the corner - excellent value for money.

I've been going here for over 4 years now. I travel to every Man Utd home game from Ireland and every trip i always find myself in this place. The food choice is exellent! Must be over 40 choices. We always go as a group of 10-15 people and even without booking, the staff here always make sure we get a good table. We've tried other Chinese Buffets around town centre, but I find the food is always hto and fresh here, compared to other places where we've had cold and unfresh food.
Oh and the chicken wings here are the best!
