“Good quality in good location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 April 2013

Clean room, a club deluxe. On 5th floor - priority club member floor. No real view. Room a bit small but very clean with a good bathroom. Nice floor to ceiling windows.Good KS bed. Looked at club room on 8th floor - not quite as smart but had a view. Being on 5th floor meant using the lift to go to the 8th floor lounge which was a pain - particularly as only 1 of the 2 lifts was working. Hotel full on a Sunday due to the Pink concert at the MEN noting the hotel is very well placed for easy access to the MEN. Bar was OK but drinks far too expensive. The prices can only be called a rip off, an annoying trend of some classier hotels. I just find it annoying. Club lounge continental breakfast a bit stingy and poor choice of wine in the evening (1 red and 1 white). Staff were very good. Parking easy to access opposite the hotel.

Stayed here for 1 night. Rooms smart & beds comfortable. Staff all very friendly & helpful. Location good for shopping. Breakfast was good, though they did keep running out of eggs, my friend waited, but eventually gave up. Valet parking was handy. Yes i would consider staying here again if i was visiting the city again.

Only stayed for 1 night but I would return to it for another stay. Room was nice & bright with a good clean bathroom.

The only very minor criticisms would be that the bedroom could have been a bit bigger (the bathroom was a good size) and the carpet had a few spot stains so could have been bit cleaner.

The breakfast was the usual standard fair but again good enough. Make sure you buy breakfast with your room because the menu price was £14.95.

When I stayed, one of the two main lifts was not working. It didn't affect me too much because my room was only on the third floor so I used the stairs to avoid the wait for the lift.

It doesn't have it's own car park but there is a Total P (open air) car park directly across the road (the entrance is of Mayes Street). For 24 hours it cost £10 from the meter or £9 from the hotel.

Fabulous location in city centre staff really nice, mini bar pricey but aren't they all. Rooms are sexy! Fab place for a romantic rendesvous in the city centre. Close to the printworks and all its attractions and a pleasant stroll to the shops. Valet parking superb and convenient, Reception staff very considerate, look forward to returning.

The room was huge, great cleanly furniture and a gorgeous, large bathroom with a fantastic shower.
Loved the decor, black, silver and white modern designs, with the most comfortable bed around!

Service was efficient and the room price was value for money.
It is in a central location, 5 mins walk from the Arndale centre so great for shopping. Also only 5-7mins walk from bars and restaurants.

This hotel is very handy for good pubs and shopping nearby.
The hotel itself is fine but feels tired and in need of some TLC. Not really what I'm used to from the top end of one of my favourite brands.
The staff were ok, but it felt like they'd rather be somewhere else on occasions.

Stayed here for one night with my mum and sister as attending a show at the MEN Arena. Room was disappointingly small and slightly too minimalistic for my liking. The lighting was totally inadequate and made the room feel quite cold and uninviting. Only two small halogen lights either side of the double beds and one near the dressing mirror and a desk lamp that really didn't give off enough light - I would class these as mood lighting and not suitable for completing important tasks such as applying makeup! I suppose this would be ok if staying as a family but not when three girls need to get dressed for a night out.

Paid B&B rate, entered restaurant following morning to be told that our booking didn't include breakfast by one waiter, only to be corrected by another upon questioning this, no apology forthcoming.

Would I choose to stay again? Don't think so, lacking in character and 'buzz' for a central Manchester stay.
