My boyfriend and I stayed at the Crowne Plaza on Jan 10th 2009 as a Christmas present. I had booked tickets for the Velodrome and needed a very nice place to put our heads for the night. I really don't understand the reviews that others may put but we had a very different stay. It was amazing! The hotel is easy to get and to and looks so modern and clean! We parked at the local NCP (Printworks, I think...) down the street. We arrived 3 hours early and didn' expect our room to be ready, but it was and we checked in very quickly. We were on the 7th floor and when we etered the room it was amazing! The coloured glass and the gorgeous decor was breath taking, very nice. The bathroom was well equiped and very clean. The bed was so soft and comfy. I slept like a log! No traffic noise, but we were on the 7th floor so I can't comment, but the road down below was busy all night. The views from the foor to ceiling windows were great, it's inner city manchester but it's great to look at things from the 7th floor. We drank in the bar after the velodrome and found the prices to be steep but what do you expect from a very nice city centre hotel. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel but got a table in Cafe North next door. Get there before 11am as you won't get a table. I think everyone eats here when it wasn't included in the Crowne Plaza. Check out was very quick, we ddn't have a tab so checking out was handing over the key card.
