Stayed for one night before a recent early morning flight. I was really surprised by the size of the room and the standard of the bed, sheets, towels etc. Free 30 minute wifi. A good quiet night's sleep. Parking for the week was dealt with efficiently and it was all excellent value. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that but the tea and coffee making facilities in the room was really welcome. Taxi to airport easy and the minibus was waiting for us when we returned from holiday. If I was again getting an early flight I'd certainly book here again.

We stayed at the Premier Inn the night before our trip to Cuba (see seperate review) on Jul 4 2012.
We have stayed at both Premier Inns on Runger Lane several times before but prefer the larger one (LHS as you enter car park).
As usual the rooms were very good, clean and functional. The staff were efficient and friendly and the price was excellent. However, and for some staying that particular evening it is a big however, the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. We have experienced long waits here before both to be seated-it is compulsory to pre book-and for the food to arrive, but this visit was epic!
We should have been pre warned when talking to a couple in the bar whilst waiting to be called to our table (30 mins late). They said they never eat here as there are quote 'always problems'
When we finally got to or table we ordered a bottle of wine, the food and sat back to wait. On looking around a family on the next table with young children were clearly upset that they had waited a long time for their order and the children were looking very cranky and hungry.
Anyway to shortcut this story..their food eventually arrived...wrong order...sorted out...our food 30 mins later, a whole hour after original booking time..over cooked but acceptable.
I have to say that the member of staff on duty did a fantastic job and when I asked what the problem was she said it was kitchen short staffing. This is clearly a management issue and I did note the restaurant 'manager' sloped off home leaving the poor lady I spoke to to deal with the customers. The big 'however' came next day when we were told that some customers didnt get their food at all as the chef closed the kitchen! (this would need to be verified though)

As I said...the staff are fantastic, the management on the other hand !!!

Room Tip: Just a tip...well 2 actually...dont plan on eating at the Premier Inn Restaurant and if there are on...

Thank you for reviewing your recent stay.

We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and our team ensured you were comfortable and well looked after. Please accept my apologies for the disappointment and waiting times you experienced in the restaurant. Your comments regarding this have been duly noted and will be followed up with the Management Team at the hotel; who will analyse whether an increase in staff is necessarry.

Your feedback is very much appreciated and we look forward to welcoming you back to Premier Inn in the future.

We stayed here for 5 nights as it was convenient for visiting family in the area. The rooms are very different from the usual Premier Inn type, being large with 2 king size beds and air conditioning. The "bathroom" contains a shower cubicle and toilet, with the sink unit located outside in the room. This results in a rather cramped "bathroom", which gets very warm and steamy if anyone has a shower. Access to the "bathroom" is via a loose-fitting sliding door, which opens directly onto the sleeping area and gives little privacy to anyone using the "bathroom". With the room being so large, there would have been no problem incorporating the sink into a larger, more conventional bathroom layout.
As mentioned earlier, the rooms have air-conditioning (Heat or Cool mode is set centrally by the hotel, according to season) - however this caused some problems. In our original room, the air-con control panel had an error message and would only run for 3 minutes before switching off, so we were moved to another room. In this room, the air-con would only run for about 60-90 minutes before turning off. As a result, it was necessary to get up several times each night to re-start the air-con. We mentioned this several times to reception and they promised to look at it, but there was no improvement during our stay. One problem is that the control panel is overly complicated for a hotel. All that is required is on/off, temperature and fan speed controls, but this control panel allows different on/off periods to be set for each day of the week! As a result, the settings are all screwed up. We also have our suspicions that the hotel does not want room air-cons to run for long periods, in order to save energy costs.
As with most budget type hotels, the room has insufficient space for suitcases - only one suitcase shelf is provided, any other cases must sit on the floor.
We had breakfast and a couple of evening meals in the onsite restaurant and have no complaints there at all. Food quality was good and the prices very reasonable. Restaurant staff were all very pleasant to deal with.
Our stay cost us £45 per night including full breakfasts for three people, which represents very good value. 30 minutes of free WiFi is provided every day. You can also purchase more access (£3 per day or £10 per week). Car parking is £5 per night.
Despite the quirky bathroom layout and troublesome air-con, we would still stay here again.

I stayed at the Premier Inn for 6 days for a business trip, whilst attending a meeting at the nearby Marriott Hotel. I was pleasantly surprised. The room was very spacious, light and with very comfortable air conditioning. The shower was excellent. Breaktast was efficient and good tasting. Free wifi for 30 minutes a day which was just about long enough for me. Staff very friendly. I was on the 5th floor with a nice view of the planes in the distance but no airplane noise. Overall very good, well done.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 5th floor, its furthest away from any noise from the reception level (sometime...

Before my husband and I went to Rome, we stayed over in the hotel for one night. We were amazed by the room. It was nice and tidy, also with a adequate size. I would definitely go there again. The only thing is the hotel is located away from the airport. So whoever wish to stayover needs to prepare £6 for a taxi. Other than that, it is absolutely fine.

We stayed for the weekend and cannot fault the hotel and it's brand. We found it exceptionally clean to Premier Inn standard. Breakfast was very filling with lots of choice and the staff were wonderful.

We went for a lovely meal in Hale and spent the following day at Salford Quays and Media City. its an ideal location for so many venues.

I could not fault the hotel in any way except for the parking charges that I did not expect: £5.00 for 24 hrs!

Overall would recommend this hotel and if you have children you get even better value as kids eat breakfast for free.

Room Tip: If you are able to choose a room, get one overlooking the car park as the back of the hotel backs on...
