Description: Right from walking through the door the Gusto Restaurant and Bar - a vibrant and trendy New York style Italian restaurant - exudes a friendly atmosphere you can’t help but feel a part of. Taking its cues in décor from 1950s NYC but with a modern twist, the focus is on the finest freshly prepared Italian dishes from throughout the ages. A restaurant of classical elegance and glamour, Gusto’s menu offers an impressive range, from wood fired pizzas to whole lobster, salt baked sea bass and 28 day aged Premium Steaks. The children’s menu is also fun, allowing the kids to create their own pizzas.

“Excellent value on the Dining Club”
Reviewed 2 December 2012

Gusto is an excellent restaurant. Innovative child friendly menu and great offers through the dining club. Child menu includes the very popular "make your own" pizza which my children go for every time! Excellent!

“Could do with more restaurants like this in Didsbury.”
Reviewed 21 November 2012

This was our first time dining at Gusto (we have been in for drinks a couple of times) and it was a good experience. The only issue was the mushroom bruschetta which was a bit too bland - and was taken off the bill without asking. Enjoyed a couple of bottles of prosecco and finished with an espresso martini. Atmosphere is buzzing, low lit, chatty, busy staff but attentive and the service professional. Just booked for NYE!

“Probably a bad day”
Reviewed 19 November 2012

Felt like we visited Gusto on a bad day. On trying to book a table we were put on hold 3 times for about 5 minutes in total. Assuming they were busy, but can't see the logic in this. So we were a bit annoyed before we arrived.
Interior and atmosphere are nice, looks like a lot of thought has been put into the detail. However one of our wine glasses was dirty and food lukewarm upon serving. Always feel a bit tight complaining (and we didn't) but when you're paying for something, you take for granted the basics will be met.

Portion was also quite small (a large risotto), menu was thorough and it was hard to pick - but that is a plus.

So overall, felt like we got the short end of the stick.

“Wonderful Evening”

This place was reccommended by a friend - and it did not disappoint! The service was very friendly and the food was great! For me, the portions were a little too big but it tasted amazing. Will be coming back again soon!

“Could do better”
Reviewed 9 November 2012

We have eaten here several times and its usually pretty good for a chain Italian. I have had some very pleasant lunches and dinner here, which is why we go back. However on our last visit we were disappointed. They had changed to the winter menu so there was no antipasta plate, we ordered a couple of starters instead, one of which was quite bizarre, ultra thin pieces of " toasted" ciabatta ( and I mean ultra thin) topped with air dried tomato, very disappointing, there was very little of it and it just crumbled to bits. The humous was ok and the flatbread very nice, but quite pricey ( over a fiver I think). My pasta was nothing special, I think it had been waiting around while the other mains were finished. Fries were good, steak ok, but again seemed like it had been sat around for a while.

The staff as always were pretty keen , no real complaints on service, I hope the food returns to form before our next visit.
