“Perfect location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 October 2011

Hotel is lovely, directly opposite the MEN Arena & a couple of minutes walk to the Printworks & the Arndale centre. Hotel room was nice, bed very comfortable, nicely furnished, spotlessly clean. The lifts broke down while we were there, but this could happen anywhere, thankfullly for us, were just leaving. The hotel was full & we were warned that the restaurant would be very busy for breakfast, so we opted for breakfast in bed. I would highly recommend this option, it's £2.50 extra per room & you tick boxes on a door hanger, hang on your door & it's delivered to your room the next morning at your desired time. We had a full English breakfast, toast & fresh fruit salad. We paid £115 for the room including full breakfast, which was overpriced, but the whole of Manchester was heaving due to a number of events.

We stayed over for one night on 21st October whilst visiting the MEN arena. The hotel itself was spotlessly clean as you would expect from a new hotel as was the room. The room itself was immaculate apart from the heating, which was air conditioned. Tried everything to get the heating to work as it was quite a cold night but didn't matter what we did with the controls it would blow out any air (hot or cold). Finished up putting on extra clothing to keep warm. Very disappointing. Also only one pillow was provided each, could have done with at least another two. On a positive side, as a non-smoker, information given in the room literature advises no smoking at all in the hotel. If the hotel finds that you have been smoking they will add £50 to your bill. You have been warned! The hotel provides an outside covered area adjacent to the bar area with a heater for those who wish to smoke, where my wife had to go.
Breakfast was excellent, a good choice was available. If you pay for breakfast before you go you'll get 2 breakfasts for £10, otherwise it's £10 each. Drinks at the bar are in line with most city centre hotels, quite expensive, but they do food until late (12:30am when we ordered). The hotel has unisex toilets on the ground floor, didn't bother me but my wife refused to use them. I assume this is the fashion for new hotels that we have to live with. One thing to watch out for if you're going straight back to the hotel after coming out of MEN arena. The queue at the bar would choke a horse and it took 15-20 mins to get served. Staff were excellent, not just the bar staff, but all over the hotel. This might have been something to do with the duty manager being very pro-active and making sure there was someone at the bar at all times. I was impressed with this and would certainly visit again, if they can sort the heating. My son & his girlfriend also commented on this as they'd stayed here a couple of weeks ago. I made a comment whilst checking out and a note was made. Hopefully this was just a blip.

Room Tip: If your heating doesn't work contact reception asap

Stayed here for a night whilst attending a show at MEN arena. Its about a two minute walk away, driving into manchester follow the signs for the arena and you cant miss the hotel.
Its modern, clean and well maintained. Bathroom immulate with good hot power shower.
Good breakfast next morning.
Decent value for money and would definately use again if attending the MEN arena purely for its location.

Pleased with the hotel and the service offered. I would stay here again because it was clean and friendly. Only disappointment was the restaurant. Very slow service and the food was decidedly average and overpriced. veggie burger was a thick slice of sweet potato!
The breakfast was very good though. We would return to stay again and just eat somewhere else.

Great Location for the MEN Arena. Good reception staff, room spotless. Large bed, 2 singles put together, but could feel the join. a little hard for our taste.
We had supper before the show, I chose a Lancashire hotpot what I got was a beef casserole with a layer of potato! Beef was well cooked but it was not a lancashire hotpot!! Hubby had liver which he said was very nice.
Enjoyed breakfast, good fresh fruit and choice of healthy or cooked food.
would stay again for the arena and shopping.

Stayed for one night for Peter Kay show. opposite the MEN. Very new and clean, room nice with big bathroom and comfy king size bed. breakfast good. Grill is a bit overpriced for evening meal.

We stayed at the Park Inn due to its proximity to the MEN, for one night only. Check in was quick and friendly. Our room was spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished. Fantastic shower! Hot & powerful. Bathroom area also spotless. Throughout our short stay all staff we spoke with were helpful and seemed happy in theor work!
The hotel is really well placed for the MEN (5 mins walk) and for many eateries (Printworks). Shopping is only a few minutes further walk.
Overall a great place to stay. The only slightly negative thing could be the lack of parking. However there is an NCP carpark opposite (secure, but pricy £12.50 for 12 / 24 hrs) or a few other parking areas quite close by (5 mins or less walk). We parked in an unsecure car park right opposite the hotel for £2.00 for 24 hours with no problems.
