Stayed for one night, 1 February 2012, and got an excellent rate of £39 for the room for the 2 of us. Kingsize bed was actually 2 single mattresses pushed together but wasn't a problem with it only being for one night and the bed was really comfortable.

Perfect location for Arena and only a 10 min walk from Piccadily Station.

Cannot comment on the food as ate elsewhere but used the bar before and after the show and it was fine, hotel prices for drinks as expected.

Room very clean with ample towels, shower gel etc. Flat screen TV with freeview channels.

All good, highly recommended, especially for the price was paid!

If you are looking for a "does it all" hotel in Manchester I can thoroughly recommend the Park Inn. Location wise, its next to Picadilly railway station, easy to find, close to parking (£15 for 24 hours) and 5 mins walk to the wheel, Printworks and Arndale and all shops including Harvey Nicks etc.
We stayed on the pre concert package (£115)which in addition to B&B gives you Late check out, Dinner and free Wifi and use of the spa which is the best hotel pool and steam room I have ever come across. The pool is navy tiled and infinity style with loungers all around it and a lovely warm temperature both in and out of the pool. The steam room is large and not just a poky cupboard like most I have used. They also have magazines for you to borrow. the rooms are minimal but have everything you need except a bath. They only have showers. I didn't ask if any were available with a bath but if its important to you, you could ask. All rooms appear to have floor to ceiling windows and some have lovely city views.
Dinner and breakfast were great. As there werent many guests staying, breakfast was cooked to order rather than buffet style.
Its the 2nd time I have stayed in this hotel and will go back again when I next visit Manchester.

Room Tip: Ask for a city view on a high floor.

Stayed here over a weekend in January, great little hotel on the outskirts of the ciy centre - but not too far out! Very comfy bed, the room was superb - good size, etc. Only one slight problem - the bathroom was a litle too dark, but this did not ruin my stay at all. Staff on check in were friendly yet efficient, got the job done and informed me about the hotel without taking too long or becoming monotonous.

Would definitely stay here again.

Tip: there is a 24 hour car park next to the MEN for £3 per day, topping off the great price of the room with a very cheap parking weekend - stayed for three whole days for just £9 (cannot be beaten in the city centre).

The hotel is situated in a very central location of Manchester close to the city center and the shopping district. The rooms are quite modern looking and efficiently spacious with comfortable beds. Much better than any other chain hotel of this price range. Their restaurant ambience does not look like much but the food they offer is rather tasty within a reasonable price range. I would recommend it to anyone looking for visiting manchester.

Stayed here for one night in December after a concert at the Arena. You'd be hard pressed to find a better located hotel for the MEN as the hotel is situated right across the road from the NCP car park that is attached to the arena.

The rooms are very clean and modern. Parking was across the road at the NCP, but if you ask at the front desk at checkout the hotel will validate your ticket to get a parking discount.

We thought the hotel was good value for the convenient location on a concert night. Only 4 stars instead of 5 though, as I found it wierd that they ask you to pre-authorise your credit card on check in for the amount of the room plus an extra £50 charge on top up front, just in case (as if to say, hey we think you might charge stuff to your room and run off without paying or something!?). Never had that before in a hotel, but not a big deal really, just a surprise.

All in all a very good hotel and a nice stay, would definitely stay here again if in Manchester.

I stayed at this hotel on a cold wet January evening when perhaps the established was not at capacity. I had a very nice big room with modern decoration and a large comfortable bed and I had a very quiet night's sleep. I went for a swim in the pool in the morning and used the gym briefly. I had the pool to myself, which was pleasant, although I must confess by this point I was beginning to feel a little lonely. I avoided breakfast as I somewhat dislike the way that many hotels now no longer include it in the price of the room and often charge at a level that is considerably above that of any local independent cafe. For the record, I never asked about the rates for a breakfast here as I knew a couple of great places in town.

All in all, a relaxing, quiet and enjoyable stay in a central location that is sufficiently out of town to avoid too much late night bawling and shouting.

This is a new modern hotel very well situated on the edge of the center of Manchester, ideally located for seeing concerts at the MEN arena. It is about five minutes walk to the Printworks, as a previous reviewer says its not the nicest of areas. The room was comfortable and a nice size, our bathroom only had a shower with no bath. (our soap in our shower was empty, which it the problem with the hotels that use these bulk dispensers.) The Black pool looks great but if is quite small and has a limited capacity, perhaps 10 of were using it was feeling full. Breakfast was included in our rate and it was of a good standard, the only negative point was that the charged extra for a hot chocolate, which seemed a bit petty.
