We stayed here only for one night on our trip to Manchester before leaving for London and I have actually nothing to complain about. The staff were helpful and one lady on the reception who we met on the morning we were leaving was very nice and friendly. The room was also good even though from the window we could only see the pub outside which I found quite unpleasant.
Located in the city center, 15 minutes walk to Manchester Piccadilly and 5 minutes walk to Arndale shopping center, you can also take public transport to any part of Manchester. All in all its a good hotel at reasonable price compared to other hotels in Manchester city center.

The average lowest price when checked was £140 (not the £93 as posted on this page) and when we saw the foyer and room we could easily have been in a premier inn or travelodge. This hotel has been built on the cheap and it shows everywhere. Don't even think of trying wifi as you will find a hidden charge of £14 per 24 hrs when you checkout. No newspaper was delivered in the morning as promised - we were told that none had been delivered to the hotel. Location is certainly good for the MEN Arena and shopping but £140 (plus parking of £9 - you would have to use the multi storey car park across the road for which the hotel has no discount to offer) plus internet charge of £14 on top of your exorbitant concert ticket makes it a VERY expensive concert. There are hotels of much superior value for money not that far away if you do your research. Finally, the magnificent city views as promised on the hotel's website must only be on the top floor rooms facing the road. If you are unfortunate enough to have a second floor room at the back as described below then you certainly do not have a suite but a "bog" standard but good size room overlooking apartment blocks and the hotel's cheap and tacky terrace.

If you are visiting the M.E.N. Arena you wont find a closer hotel. (Walking distance 2-3 minutes). Check in/out efficient. Rooms clean OK for shorrt stay. No trouser press or mini fridge. Bed was comfortable. Bar prices average and breakfast was good. Restaurant service - we had a fixed price pre-concert at £20 (2 course with glass wine/beer) Service was below average - in fact it was poor. We were hoping for a 3 course meal (pay extra for third course), we did not have time - we were at out table at 5.30pm and at 7pm we asked for the bill after we finished our main course. I did inform reception when asked at check out and the receptionist was apologetic and did offer me to speak to the manager - hey life is too short and it was not the end of the world. Would I go back there, yes if I was going back to the MEN.

What a great hotel in a great location.
Across the road from MEN Arena and literally 5 min stroll to the Arndale centre and all the shops.

The hotel. Very spacious, 3 elavators, restaurant & a bar. Check in very quick and simple and the receptionist was excellent in giving me directions to a pacific restaurant.

The rooms. Spacious, clean, lots of lights and mirrors. Tea & coffee facilities, small flat screen TV, lots of hangers. Big beds, very comfortable, pillows a let down. Very big but polyester, your head just sunk in to them back down to the mattress. (sml point) Bathroom very nice, big shower with shower gel, plenty of towels.

Didn’t try the restaurant so can’t comment but tried the bar(as you do). Good service, comfortable chairs, v good lighting creating a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Would definitely look to stay again

Well having read numerous reviews, we didn't bother with breakfast, so I can't comment on that....Room was simple but pleasant, but the bed and pillows were just the most comfortable - best nights sleep either of us have had in a very long time!! We were there to see Peter Kay and the MEN is literally just over the road so that was great! Surprised to see some reviewers (on another site not sure if any have said same on here...) complain there were no nearby shops/restaurants?!?! The Printworks AND the Arndale Centre are a 5 minute walk away!?!? We had a lovely meal before the show and a drink after and were back in the hotel minutes later! Would certainly stay again if we had another show at the MEN, only slight complaint I guess would be that £115 for just rooom only does seem a bit pricey.....Also car park is so close it's really not a bother to have to cross the road, and despite the fact that clearly there was an event on, we only got charged £4 for the entire time (3pm - 10am) instead of the £9 we were expecting to pay! Bonus!! Just want to find out where to get a bed like that from!!!

If you've got tickets for the MEN Arena then this is the place to stay, just one road to cross and you're there! - No excuse for being late haha
The hotel is new and therefore modern. The bed (and pillows) was new and extremely comfortable. After returning from the MEN Arena we had a late night meal in the bar, very tasty and freshly cooked at a reasonable price. After a good show it was nice to only have one road to cross to get back :-) - Warning though, if you suffer from vertigo don't rush to open the curtains (as I did) as the windows are from floor to ceiling! - good views over Manchester though :-)

Ever since we saw this shiney hotel being built we wanted to stay there. We found a special offer on TravelZoo where we got one nights stay in a buisness suite with fluffy robes and slippers, £18 per person to spend in an evening meal in the restaurant and a £20 bar tab, all for £130 total. This sounded a great deal so we booked it.
On arrival we were checked in quickly and everything seemed clean and tify.
Our room was on the second floor, facing the rear overlloking the patio where people from the bar were smoking all the time. The room was cold but we adjusted the air con and then it was ok. The bed was big, but there was no sight of any fluffy gowns or slippers and there was a half eaten pack on biscuits next to the kettle. We rang down to reception and told the staff about these problems. Unfortunately there were no rooms facing the city centre so we just shut the red curtain. The biscuits were replaced and the dressing gowns were brought up - but no they were not fluffy - the were flannel ones, but never mind. Still no slippers though.
There wasn't a wardrobe or mini bar or any toiletries what so ever in the room, which was disappointing for a 'buisness suite'.
When we got in the big bed, we found it was two beds pushed together so there was a big crack down the middle. But it was actually comfy and we did get a good nights sleep dodging the crack.
We went down to the restaurant for our meal at about 7pm, there were only two other occupied tables so we thought service would not be too bad. The restaurant was cold though - the air con was clearly set too low. There was only one veggie option on the menu which was diappointing so I ordered the mushroom burger with some steamed veg, and my other half ordered a medium sirloin steak (£20) and mash. It took quite a long time for the food to come and when it did we had to send the steak back becuase it was cooked well done. I had finished my meal ( even thoughthey had not brough any veg over) by the time the second steak arrived - just the same as the first one. We didn't bother sending it back again. The desserts were ok.
Breakfast - the room was still cold. We came down for breakfast around 9am and it seemed quite busy, but there were plently of people around clearing tables. Most of the food trays were full and there was a good selection, but avoid the bacon if you like it cooked properly.
Check out was easy and we hadnt beed overcharged for anything. However, we didnt get an apology or compensation for having to stand outside the hotel for 20mins in the cold and wind because the fire alarm was going off in the afternoon!
Overall it was an average stay.
I would recommend this hotel if you arent going to spend alot of time in it, or if you are going to the MEN arena - its right across the road.
