The Manchester museum is actually part of the University of Manchester as I understand. I loved the Ancient Age exhibit as they had a few sarcophagi and one of the sarcophagus even had the mummy still in it. There were also lots of Ancient Egypt artifacts on display,

I was most impressed with the Vivarium where they had several endangered frog species on display and the conservation efforts being done by the Zoology Department of the University of Manchester on behalf of the endangered frog species of the world.

Overall spent a pleasant afternoon wandering around the museum.

Interesting egyptian collection and fun natural collection. Very good plan for a rainy day, specially for children. And it has a T-Rex!

This is such a great place to take the children or yourselves on a rainy day. Very old building with beautiful character with plenty to see and learn. Great history and love the animals area and Egyptian part. Chrlildren loved the giant T Rex and the top floor with the snakes and frogs. Great way to spend a couple of hours on a rainy day in a great city

Interesting traditional style museum just out of the city centre in Manchester. We went to see the frogs and lizard displays, but we also spent some time looking around the other exhibits on offer. Took me back to my days of going round similar type museums when I was a kid.

A beautiful building in the busy part of Manchester packed with history.

Very organised and everything is properly maintained. A shame they are covering the original building interior up to make it more modern, though it's still a must go place if you visit Manchester and one of the few places you can still go on for free!
