While searching online for accommodation, we had some initial difficulty locating Shudehill Apartments--the site was marked as Northern Serviced Apartments on Google Map. We needed to stay in this vicinity, but heeded Tripadvisor members' comments and decided to stay a distance from Printworks which tended to be noisy at night especially on weekends.
Perhaps a good general description would be that this accommodation was casual, easy-going, with non of the hotel-like atmosphere. Entry into the apartment was unassuming--no frontage saved single door access off the pavement next to a bus-stop. The main door opened with a loud thud; we had to be cautious when going out lest we frightened unsuspecting pedestrians standing just outside waiting for buses. Counter service was best described as non intrusive. Getting a mobile number to call in case of need would be an advantage.
We enjoyed convenience from a more peaceful locale. 3-4 minutes of walking and we would be in Arndale (modern, giant shopping complex!), Printworks, or Shudehill Station. Another 5 minutes and we would be in the vibrant hub of Picadilly.
Not all rooms had washing machines. We requested for one and was given Room 5. The bathroom was very clean, good-sized, and modern. The main living/dining area was airy and spacious. The room had bright, large windows to look out from. All said, it felt like home when we returned from a day out. Nothing to shout about from the outside, all comfortable and cosy once inside.
